Malfunctioning memory module - replace it and try again. If you get a similar result then the defect is in the memory controller from the motherboard. This is unfixable, the motherboard is dead - replace it.

What it means is that boot.ini file is either missing or corrupt. Here is a previous post from the late Alex Nichol, MVP about it and how to fix it.
That message is rather misleading. It happens because the boot.ini file
that tells the boot where to look for 'Windows' is damaged, so it is
looking for files in the wrong place - hal.dll just happens to be the
first one it looks for.

Set the BIOS to boot CD before Hard Disk. Boot the XP CD and, instead
of Setup, take the immediate R for Repair. Assume any password
requested is blank, and TAB over.

Use
Attrib -H -R -S C:\boot,ini
DEL C:\boot.ini
to delete the bad one
BootCfg /Rebuild


to search for Windows installations and make a new one

Previous attempts at booting this system have failed at chekpoint {vcls} .for help in resolving this problem , memory write/ read failure at off90000,read f916f912 expecting f916f916 memory address...
Open the router, remove the memory sticks and reseat them. Sounds like the memory channels are having issues if the memory itself isn't the problem.

if you have 2 memory's try to remove one check sys then remove 1st and try second try them in different slots. Try to disconnect HDD and then try too boot diag CD

I cant boot up my computer(memory address line failure)
This is clearly a problem with the memory. You can try two things:

1) Remove and reseat the memory sticks (with the unit unplugged)
2) Swap the boards around. Windows is not very tolerant of errors in the lower portion of memory. Swapping around the boards will change the relationship of physical memory addresses to virtual addresses. At the very least, the memory swap may help to determine which memory stick is defective.

Black screen saying to reseat memory
Theres no risk losing any data if you reset the memory.

If above doesnt work you could trying taking the memory out and cleanng the connection points with a soft cloth.

When placing the memory stick back in -making sure it sitting straight and securely on the board (memory shouldnt move if put in correctly) .

Try booting up the laptop now...good luck.

Cant boot up Computer- Memory address line failure
From the failures its probably a RAM memory problem , which means that you should try a different ram module that is working , or if possible try the ram module of this pc in another one thats working.
