Question about Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Silver Edition Graphic Calculator

I don't know how to go down on a graph.... I went up somehow and can't get back to the axis.

What is the meaning of the error "invalid axes"?

This is problem with graphing differential equation. Invalid Axes error occurs if Axes=TIME or if t(time) is set as a CUSTOM axis. This is important to noticed: if Fields=DIRFLD you cannot plot a time axis. See captured image:

The line of the graph appears but theres no x or y axis...what do i do to get it normal? does it have something to do with the mins and maximums? HELP!

It could. If the x range doesn't include x=0 then the y axis will not show. Likewise, if the y range doesn't include y=0 then the x axis will not show.

You need to fix your graph so that it shows the correct y-axis and x-axis.
It works best if you press the zoom button and then scroll to find the ZoomFit option.
Then the graph should show up.

I have a TI-89, I enter a function and then switch to graph. It shows nothing. I tried simple functions like y=x, y=2 and nothing.. It does show the X and Y axis only.

What probably happened is the graph was turned off.

to turn the graph back on, select the function (ex. y1) and then press f4. This should turn the graph back on and you should see the function.

I am not quite sure how the major axis of your hyperbola is directed and i do not know if the lengths you give are measures of the major and minor axes or the measures of the semi-major and semi-minor axes. So I am giving you the equations and the graphs so that you can decide for yourself what is appropriate for your problem.

Major axis parallel to the X-axis
Equation and graph

Center is at x=1 and y=-2, semi-major axis length is a=6, and semi-minor axis length is b=12

Major axis is parallel to the y-axis
Equation

Center is at x=1 and y=-2, semi-major axis length is a=12, and semi-minor axis length is b=6.

I trust you can customize the equations to fit your need.

Why is it true that at x-intercept, the value of y is0, and at y-intercept the value of x is 0?

The x intercept is where the value of y when graphed lands directly on the x axis. The value of y anywhere on the x axis is zero. The same is true for the y intercept producing an x value of zero. The point at which the graphed line intersects the y axis gives an x value of zero. The value of x anywhere on the y axis is zero.

Take 51 sheets of "graph-paper" (1+200 minus 60 minus 50 minus 40).

On the first sheet of paper, label the graph-title as 'Z=40'.
Label the X-axis from 60 to 200.
Label the Y-axis from 50 to 200.
Draw a straight line from (X=60 and Y=(200-60-40))
to (Y=50 and X=(200-50-40)).

On the second sheet of paper, label the graph-title as 'Z=41'.
Label the X-axis from 60 to 200.
Label the Y-axis from 50 to 200.
Draw a straight line from (X=60 and Y=(200-60-41))
to (Y=50 and X=(200-50-41)).

On the next sheet of paper, label the graph-title as 'Z=42'.
Label the X-axis from 60 to 200.
Label the Y-axis from 50 to 200.

My Graphing calculator has no x or y axis. Its all Blank.

Press the 2nd Button then the ZOOM button. Make sure that AxesOn is highlighted. If not, move your cursor down until you on AxesOn and press ENTER.

If AxesOn is highlighted, then it is probably your window. Press ZOOM, then 6.

X and Y axis disappeared

If you are using the TI 89 titanium Go to your graph press f1 go do to last option (format) you can turn on your x and y axes there

TI-82 graphing problem

You must press 2nd then "zoom", then go down to axes, and turn them on. Now your graph will work again.

My calculator will turn on but when i press the buttons none of numbers show up on the screen and the calculator won't turn off Originally, the calculator kept kept showing 13 with the cursor over the 3. I took the batteries out, etc but it still kept showing 13. I ended up taking out the "back up battery" and I am now stuck with my current problem

TI-84 ALPHA + F1 does not work!!! it used to, but now it doesn't, can I know how or why it happened? My TI-84 Plus calculator was working well and the functions were also working perfectly, but the functions suddenly stopped working, I also have the latest operation system 2.55mp.
