If you can produce a similar noise by moving the empty tub around, back and forth, manually, one or more of the suspension points has failed.
You can probably spot the point by removing the back panel and using a good light while someone else moves the tub.
BTW, always include make and model info when posting a request for help otherwise the answer may not make sense for your machine.

THE CLOTHES COME OUT VERY WET EVEN IF I USE AN EXTRA SPIN CYCLE. IT SEEM'S TO BE SPINNING BUT MAYBE NOT AS FAST AS IT SHOULD.

Make sure that the load is properly balanced, if the load is heavy like a bunch of towels or out of balance it will not allow the machine to spin fast enough to extract the water

When the tub is full of water it makes a grinding noise like the tub is rubbing on the base of the unit, and the tub will not stay balanced during the spin cycle?

The suspension of the tub is out of alignment. It is possible that the suspension , the dampers are faulty and lets the tub down with the weigght of the water, This also makes the tub go out of balance during the spin.
Look for faulty/stretched suspension springs, faulty dampers.
The tub must be rigid and kept up and a loadd of about 6-8 kgs must not push it down. set this accordingly.

Very loud banging and clanking when the drum is spinning

If the dryer is making this noise the roller on the belt tensioner has a flat spot causing this to happen. The roller and belt are replaced as a unit. If it is the washer unit the spring has fallen off on one side of the drum which is one of two that balances the drun while spinning

Is off balance during the spin cycle mor often

I have a 10yr old Maytag Atlantis model MAV7258AWW. Here is how I solved my balance problem. It appeared that I had two problems. One was that it would not spin fast, the second was that it would spin off balance. To get the washer to spin fast like it should I had to open the lid then close it, re-engaging the spin cycle. I opened the top and watched the motor engage in the spin cycle. with the top open, I would open and close the lid activating the lid switch. Each time I closed the lid I noticed that the motor would move a little bit more on its glides to tighten the belt. Sort of like a automatic adjuster. The motor is designed to pivot one way for the agitator the other way for spin. If the motor does not pivot correctly, the belt will not tighten and will slip. I removed the front panel, cleaned and lubed the pivot area. Now the motor glides on the pivots like it should. I ran the spin cycle and the motor slid all the way to one side like it should, the belt tightens and the spin cycle spins. Now that the spin cycle works, quess what?? The balance problem is fixed as well. It appears that the reason that the tub was going off balance was because the belt was slipping not spinning the tub at maxium speed as designed causing the off balance problem. The tub was not spinning fast enough causing the off balance problem. I have ran several loades in the washer and not a problem. I did replace the snubber, it was worn out but it still spun off balance. I hope this helps to all who have a balance problem.

Whirlpool washer lxr9245eq1 doesn't spin dry completely

Try this... while in in spin turn your spin selector switch and listen if motor spins slower or faster.. at fast spin open your lid quick to see how fast its spinning.. check and make sure your drain line is cleared and the water flow out fast...and if its spinning too slow problem is in the gearbox area..

Why does my Whirlpool Duet model # WFW97HEXL not detect the blue load and go detergent dispenser cartridge? Front load Whirlpool duet steam washing machine w/ precision detergent dispenser cartridge, (model # WFW97HEXL), does not detect the blue detergent cartridge when placed in the soap dispenser drawer, as a result the pre treat cycle cannot be utilized since it works in conjunction with the blue precision detergent cartridge. Without the cartridge in the dispenser drawer, soap flows freely into the drum, as do bleach, and fabric softener without issue. When starting a wash cycle with the blue detergent cartridge in the dispenser drawer a prompt on the LCD screen asks if the detergent cartridge is being used, you can answer yes to override the question by continuing to press the start button the wash cycle starts but, the pre treat cycle cannot be chosen because the blue detergent cartridge Is not detected and the machine will not allow the pre treat cycle to be overridden because it cannot detect the blue detergent cartridge. With the top of the washer off and by over riding the detergent cartridge when prompted I noticed that the dispenser actuator is cycling and landing on actuator port II but, I believe with the detergent cartridge inserted the actuator should be dispensing from actuator port I. Has anyone seen this issue or can anyone provide any insight into what may need to be replaced. This started occurring after the main control board went bad and was replaced the humidity sensor on top of the dispenser drawer was also replaced as I noticed that sensor seemed to coincide with the float inside of the blue detergent cartridge. Other than the blue detergent dispenser not being detected and not being able to utilize the pre treat feature as a result of the blue detergent dispenser not being detected the machine and all other features are functioning normally.
