Has the receiver gotten faxes (from other senders) since your problem started? It sounds like the receiving fax is not answering the call. Also to determine if it's your problem or the receiver's problem send a test fax to someone else.

Maybe I was clear enough; you have to figure-out if the malfunction is at your end, or (more likely) at the receivers’ end. There are 2 steps to determine where the problem is.
    1. Send a test fax to a different receiver.
    2. Have the receiver (that you are having a problem with) get a test fax from someone else.
My suspensions are that your fax will go through but that the receiver (that you are getting this problem from) will not automatically answer no matter whose fax tries sending.

How to connect surround sound, tv,wii, dvd

Depends on your TV, surround system, and the provided connections.

The most common with a decent LCD TV is connected all the input devices (DVD, Wii, etc) to the TV via their respective connections. Run the audio from the TV to the receiver via HDMI or SPDIF or other audio out line on your TV. Set TV to output audio through that line always and you are done.

Quality audio receivers will have a panel where you connect everything to it, then connect the TV to it via HDMI. It will play the audio and send the video signal via HDMI in what is called a pass through. This will only be an option on quality, mid to high end audio receivers.

In either case, reading the manual for the receiver will tell you how to do this.

My pioneer plasma tv is pdp-r04u with media receiver. The back of the receiver has a s-video jack "monitor out". what shoud i connect it to?

My initial response is "An S-Video Cable"... but I suspect this isn't the information you are seeking.
You don't need to connect your receiver to the TV's video inputs UNLESS you want the receiver to switch between different video devices.
PS - more information on what "my receiver" is would help too, also tell us what you're trying to accomplish as the end result.
tell us about all the equipment you have, and how you would ultimately like to be able to control everything, and what inputs and outputs are on each device.

I can't send fax to Japan, but can make calls.

Dial the fax number in Japan with a regular phone. You hear how responsible you a fax from the other side? If you answer a fax can be heard, the more likely the issue is still in the phone company that gives you the link.

Can't get my Accurian subwoofer to work

Sounds like you have everything hooked up properly. Make sure the outlet is providing AC power to the sub. Check the power switch on the sub.

If it is not working still; bring it back and swap it for another one before you warranty runs out.

Sony STR-DA5300ES Audio Problem

I am posting this to try and get everyones audio problem for this receiver fixed. If you only connected the HDMI cable to the 510, you will not get sound. This receiver passes through HDMI only, no processing of audio. You must either connect a fiber optic or digital coax to the 510 for that respective HDMI input from the BD player, the DVD HDMI only accepts digital coax, and the Video2 HDMI only accepts fiber optic. If you BD player does not have digital coax out for audio, you must move the connection to Video2 HDMI and connect fiber optic to the Video2 fiber input. Sony butchered the whole purpose of HDMI with this receiver. Hope this heps you. By the way, it is hardware, no firmware update will correct this.
