Refrigerator icemaker repair

The ice maker does its own thang. All it needs is power and a good water valve to supply the water. Also you paid the water bill helps too. Anywho when the temp in the ice maker mold drops below 25f the harvest cycle begins. The mold heater is activated and loosens the ice. When the ice starts moving the heater shuts down and the motor carrys over and drops the ice. The ice maker then asked for and gets water from the water valve. So what goes wrong? Watervalve solenoid burnt out, water valve dripping like a faucet make a stalagmite in the fill tube blocking fresh water to ice mold. If that is ok then something inside the icemaker went haywire, replace it. When replacing the ice maker replace the watervalve. Note: if temp inside icebox freezer does not get to 25f any ice maker new or existing ain't gonna make ice. Be sure to clean the coils down by the compressor and the kickplate so the maximum amount of airflow is running down there and make sure the cardboard panel back there is in place.

Icemaker does not make ice wate is connected and on, ice maker runs, arms move to eject ice, but no water ever enters the ice maker.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa.To start withcheck the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve. If still the issue is not resolved then remove the ice bin, Remove the wires from the auger motor. With the freezer door open and the door switch depressed, push the ice cube release and check for 120VAC between the motor wires. If there is 120VAC then the motor has gone bad. If there is no 120VAC then the control board (module time delay) has to be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Why is the ice maker not droping ice / Mod. ET1FTTXKQ00 / Type C21TFA01 Whirlpool 08-01

Take a 4 inch piece of 14 gauge insulated wire and strip 1 inch of insulation off each end. Bend the wire into a U shape.Remove the plastic cover from the front of the icemaker. Insert the bare ends into the terminals marked T and H on the face of the icemaker. The wheel should move and dispense the ice into the bucket. If it does not move and drop the ice replace the icemaker.

ICE MAKER NOT WORKING PROPERLY. ICE WILL FREEZE

See if the fill tube is partially blocked with ice. It's the tube where the water comes into the ice maker.
The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

A strainer before the inlet valve can also get stopped up restricting flow.

Ice maker does not work on my Hotpoint sise by side. the water dispenser works, i've replaced the filter, the green light is on, but nothing happens with the icemaker, no running water sound, no ice

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

Hooked up waterline to side by side frigiedaire,

Your inlet tube that goes to the icemaker may be frozen. To Check: Shut off water supply to Fridge, disconnect the water line that goes to the icemaker at top back. Use a flexible item to insert in the water line connection. I used a zip tie. If the flexible item won't all the through to the ice maker, the line is frozen. Thaw out the tube from inside the freezer with a hair dryer. Re-connect everything, you now have ice . . . Solution #2: You may have to replace your "Water Inlet Valve" located at bottom right rear of Fridge. Easy to do, just follow the color codes, be sure and shut off the water.

Can not get cubes from the front, just crushed ice and water?

Hi

When an ice maker is producing ice poorly--when it produces just a few cubes or none, or when the cubes are too small--it's usually because of a clogged water line or a defective water inlet valve.

First, check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow.

Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Icemaker won't make ice

First, check to make sure you have water pressure at your supply line. (flex hose) If you have pressure and the icemaker is cycling, (arm moving up and down on its own) you most likely have a defective water inlet valve. This is the valve that the supply line connects to. Water is fed to this valve through your flex hose and then passed through a solenoid to your icemaker when the solenoid is energized.
