Take the bobbin out and reinsert it in the case, try bothways, you could have it in backwards. Increase the tension on the top thread. Thebobbin tension is so tight, it is dragging all the stitches over to the backside of the fabric, so you need to increase the tension on the top thread tocompensate.First re-thread the top thread. A lot of times, it slips outof the tensioner disc, or something else happens, and re-threading the wholething would fix it.

Hope this will help you. Good Luck.

I have multiple threads coming out the bobin space and making a mess of the back side.

called bird nesting and is a result of too loose a needle thread tension
if you use an automatic tensioner or using the numbers
and you still have a problem, the correct tension is a resistance to you pulling the thread prior to threading the needle

Bobin thread is loose

As you are winding the thread onto the bobbin, grasp it between your fingers ever so lightly to give it a little drag so it spools up tighter.

Or just press the thread down against the top of the machine as it winds, anything to just help it spool up a little tighter.

The top thread is looping every 30 or 40 stitches on my Juki DDL 8700. I put in a fresh needle, cleaned thoroughly, fresh throat plate and re-threaded. Any ideas? Thank you!

I reloaded my bobin and began to sew. The thread

Sometimes it may look like the bobbin is the problem, when it is actually the machine was threaded with the presser foot down.

Refer to the manual for your machine and recheck the direction the thread is be feeding from the bobbin and that it is going through the proper guide(s).

Always thread a sewing machine with the presser foot up.

When threaded with the foot down, the tension is closed and the thread cannot enter. When you sew, the stitches are loose and loopy.

Lower thread tension is too loose but no adjustment seems to work

From your description it appears that you have tried tension settings on the upper tension control adjustment knob without success.
Check that the bobin tension is adjusted correctly by taking out the bobin complete with the spool.
Pull the cotton thread and it should be a smooth light pressure if the tension is correct. If it is tight to pull or pulls freely then adjust the tension screw which is found on the outside of the bobbin. The screw is very small and requires a minature size screwdriver. The adjustment will only be a slight turn of the screw one way or the other to obtain the correct tension(depending if it was loose or tight).
Once this is set reinstall the bobin and tread up the machine, hopefully with the upper tension set at approx."2" the machine will sew correctly.

Thread bunches from the bottom while sewing.

Hello, sewing is a part of my income and I've encountered this problem before and managed to fix it on my own, by trying out these different things. I re-threaded the machine and checked to make sure that the tension is not too loose. Check the bobin and the sack the bobin fits into, sometimes it comes loose too, click it back into place and re-do the bobin. adjust the tightness of the stiitches, I usually put it on 2 .5 - 3. Hope this helps. Good luck to all. Nefishakh@hotmail.com

I have model 8280 and the bobbin thread keeps bunching up on the bottom. I have tried to rethread it but it keeps happening.

i think your putting in your bobin backwards,
to check put your bobin in and hold bobin , and bobin case by thread if it unrolls its backwards,
hope this helps!!

My machine is locking and apparently tangling up inside of the bobin case

You also need to adjust the pressure foot on the top of the machine. This regulates how much pressure is put on the fabric and the feed. Sounds like it is wrong somehow-maybe you need more pressure. Check the pressure adjustment is screwed in properly if it is this type which unscrews. The pressure adjuster Im reffering to is generally a silver colour and looks a bit like a basic tyre pressure guage or pressure cooker valve-it just got a cuple of lines on it and sits on the top left of the machine above the needle bar. The other thing which could cause problems is the bobbin tension-make sure it is running thru smoothly but not too loose.
