Question about HP LaserJet 2840 All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

Hp 2840 Laser Jet wil not power on

HP laser jet 2840 will not power on.

I have checked-
1. Power cord - OK
2. Power source (240 volt.) (Australia) OK

3. There are no lights on the control panel.

4 There is no power indicator LED light on at the rear of the machine(if one exists)
5. Power on off switch obviously no effect.

This machine is unused but unfortunately out of warranty.
HP wants big money to fix. I have had a technical background before retirement and therefore might be able to fix with some expert assistance.

Kind Regards,

Richard S.

When I used a compatible ink cartrige, the printer became misaligned and it was not printing correctly. I followed instructions to correct mis-aligning, pur everything back together the same, butnow I try to turn it on and nothing happens - no power, nothing. Check cord, power source.

    Any ideas?

Scaner error 52 in my laser jet printer printer model :-hp laser jet 3052 all in one printer

52 Scanner Error
The all-in-one has experienced an internal hardware error.

1. Turn off the power by using the power switch, and then wait at least 30 seconds.
2. If a surge protector is being used, remove it. Plug the all-in-one directly into the wall socket.
3. Check the FFC connection between the formatter and the scanner.
NOTE Do not bend or fold the FFCs during the removal or reinstallation process.
4. Try connecting the product to a different power source or surge protector.
5. Turn on the power and wait for the all-in one to initialize.
6. If the error persists, replace the laser scanner assembly.

I have a 1997 caravan in Australia, in the caravan is an Electrolux three way refrigerator, it operates OK on 240 volts, I expect OK on gas, but it isnt working on 12 volts, I checked the power supply at...

chances are the power inverter has gone,(it takes 12 volts upto 240)
easy to check, use a lightbulb and the two wires to check power output.BE CAREFULL NOT TO TOUCH THE WIRES.

No heat from element

check your power supply there should be two 120 volt lines that will make 240
on your power cord wich is flat you measure from line 1(black) to neutral 2 (white) =120 and 2(white) to 3(red)=120
and from 1(black) to 3(red) =240 volts ac
if you don't have this readings correct-
check your breaker
it is a double breakerthat cuts both power lines, but sometimes only one side trips

Assuming this is an electric dryer, this could be one or more of the following:
1. Defective heating element (most common)
2. Defective timer
3. Power source not delivering 240 volts to the outlet
4. Defective power cord

The hp color laser jet 2840 does not print. message "50.2 fuser error" appears

HP recommended checks: 1. adequate 120 VAC power supply, 2. Remove Fuser Assembly, wait 5 minutes and then reseat. 3. Reset the printer to Factory Default settings (remember to copy down the IP address, mask and gateway numbers first).

While this may solve the problem, it is much more likely it's time to replace the fuser. Cost is approx $125 if you buy it online. Just do a Google search on HP 2840 fuser.

This link will show you where your fuser is and how to remove and replace it.
