Question about Black & Decker FP1445 Food Processor

2 Answers

I need to find a part for my Black and Decker 1445 Food Processor. It is a white plastic piece that goes into the slot on the top to prevent food from shooting out the discharge opening.

This part is white plastic, not clear like the rest of the parts. It has a tab grabber end to pull it out. It is slightly curved and about 1 1/2 inches by about 4 inches. Mine was lost and the food processor is useless without it as it spits out the contents. This part is a shield that closes the discharge opening in the lid

    Lance,

Thanks for the idea - but I went through that website and even talked to a person about what part I needed. The one word description on that website are not really clear. The person told me what part I needed - the Shield, I ordered it. It arrive yesterday, wrong part!! Frustration, thus my post.

Hi Lucinda: I would try again with them and would certainly return the part that was not correct.

Your manual can be found online here:
    http://useandcaremanuals.com/pdf/FP1435,...

Perhaps the grpahic on page 3 will help you identify the part you are looking for. Is it the Food Pusher: FP1445-03?

Thanks for the link. It is not the food pusher, but it is the continuous flow stopper. Now to find that part!

It is too bad that the parts on the partsourceplus site do not have item numbers, nor do they match up to the labels in the manual. I wonder if I order the cover with continuous food shoot if it will contain the continuous flow stopper since it sets in the cover. I would love to call the folks at that site again but they messed me up last time so I question their knowledge of these parts.

The lid of my EP91 quad blade is broken

Hi Rosa

Depending on the severity of the broken lid....

I fix a lot of plastic items with either super glue or 2 part epoxy resin.
Then for reinforcement at the edges. I take a 2cm (aprox) piece of thin wire. Like a staple. Then heat it with the soldering iron. sliding back and forth until the wire is embedded into the plastic. even slightly covered over.
This often makes a cracked piece of plastic quite strong.
It may not look great but it might hold you over till you find a replacement
Good Luck

Tip

The cusinart pro classic food processor is not working ?

Try this procedure:-- It usually goes something like this, with minor variations depending on model number:1.Remove the work bowl completely from the base
2.Plug the food processor in and turn it on
3.Use a pen to depress the dark grey/black button on the base – if it spins, proceed
4.Put the work bowl on the base with the handle facing the front of the food processor – slide the work bowl until it locks - the white tabs show in the openings on the bottom of either side of the work bowl
5.Place the lid on the work bowl with the tab slightly left of the center of the work bowl handle – slide the lid counterclockwise until it won’t slide any more
6.Place the pusher sleeve in the feeder tube of the lid with the lock facing the front of the food processor (may vary depending on model)
7.Slide the lock to the right into the locked position
The food processor should now work.
This will help.Good luck.

I have a Moulinex Ovatio 2 food processor. it looks as though the handle to the processing bowl can be removed...but I just cant work out how! It needs cleaning as the design of the handle lets water and...

It is safe to remove the white part - I just did it. Lever it off with a knife at the bottom then two clear plastic parts and the spring can be removed. Just don't lose the spring!

I have a cuisinart pro classic food processor, and even though bowl and top are locked in place, it will not start.

On the processor look at the bowl and lid and see where they are supposed to engage the motor. If this is broken then that is the problem, find something to push on where the part of the the bowl and lid assembly would push, if it comes on then you have figured out the problem.

Need to clean inside of handle on KitchenAid food processor

The plastic for the work bowl / handle is molded and one piece and cannot be disassembled. My best recommendation is to call Kitchenaid customer service to see what recommendations they have. Within one year warranty, they may replace the work bowl at no cost.

Their toll-free number is: 1-800-541-6390.

Installing Cuisinart Sleeve/Sheath for DLC -7EMotor Shaft Cover

I have a DLC 7 pro circa 1982 - just replaced the sheath. First - remove old sheath - I found that using a plumbers pipe cutter to cut old sheath off in sections then pulling each section off with pliers works great. Make sure ALL the plastic comes off the metal shaft - as well as the brass ring portion of the sheath.

Next use a sharpie marker to mark the the "flat" side of the shealth = you must look inside the sheath, find the 2 "nubs" that form a "flat" side. These nubs must line up perfectly with the flat side of the shaft - mark the base of the shaft as well so you can more easily line up the flat of the sheath with the flat side of the shaft (and no, the flat outer sides of the the sheath do not match up with the flat inside section of the sheath - that would make life too easy!)

Press the new sheath on with your hand as far as it goes - should go down to about 1 inch from the base.

Now you need a hammer, piece of 2 x4 wood and brute strenght! (keep in mind that once you hammer it - even once - it will NOT come off) Put the 2" side of the wood against the top of the sheath - Use a LOT of force to hammer the sheath all the way down. will probably take 3 - 5 good strikes. It will take much more force than you think you should need to use. Make sure the base of shaft is as far down as possible - if it rubs against the workbowl while spinning it will fuse to the bowl! Good luck! -

How do I clean the clear plastic parts, I don't know how to seperate them

Try cleaning the parts with olive oil ( let it sit a while to soften the cheese) then with mild dish detergent. The oil softens the cheese and allows the soap to dissolve it.

Euro-Pro EP91 Quad-Blade 6 Won't Start

My wife was given this unit from an elderly gentleman that was done trying to make it work.
I just fixed the same problem as above. Note - I do not have a manual for this unit.
True above about the bowl cover being locked in position but found the key to make it work is also the white lid to the left of the bowl cover. I was locking and unlocking this white lid with no results. Then I removed the bowl cover and found the white lid cover was loose and easily removed this white lid to inspect inside ( why this cover removes I have no clue).
Anyway I was able to snap the white cover firmly on and turn counter clockwise to lock in place ( six o’clock position), then after putting the bowl cover back on and snapping in place it works.
Note - I do not need to turn the white lid cover to install or remove the clear bowl cover, this could be because it looks like one of the clear tabs might be broken on the locking area of the clear bowl cover. If you have two tabs the same shape on the bowl cover you may need twist the white lid clockwise to install and remove the bowl cover and counter clockwise to lock in place so the unit works, but now that my white lid is snapped firmly in place it hardly moves with the force of both hands trying to turn it.
Hope this helps someone.
Good Luck !
