Question about Avermedia AVerDiGi SA6832E RACK 32-Channel Digital Video Recorder - Digital Video Recorder - MPEG-4, H.264 Formats - 500 GB Hard Drive

1 Answer

Certain cameras are showing the same video.

The video showing on channel 2 is showing on channel 9, the video showing on channel 4 is showing on channel 11, the video showing on channel 6 is showing on channel 13 and the video showing on channel 8 is showing on channel 15. Restarting the DVR unit temporarily fixes the issue however it over time it comes back to displaying the incorrect images. Both cards in the DVR unit have been placed. We are using CAT6 cable to connect the cameras to the DVR unit. We are getting good tone from the pairs of wires that we are using to send the video to the DRV unit. We are using a BCI PASSIVE CCTV BALUN to connect the cameras to the CAT6 cable and then the CAT6 cable to the DVR unit. Any suggestions in resolving the issue is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

First you need to isolate the problem. Step one - make sure the video from the cameras is correct - use a monitor and check each input separate. If the video is correct, use one camera and start from input one on the DVR and check all inputs - in other words plug your camera in input 1, check for video to make sure is correct and shows up in the right place, than go to input 2. This way you check your DVR cards. If the video shows up, but in the wrong place - check the settings on the DVR - you might be able to change the physical input in the viewer.Or you might have a bad DVR.......do a search for DVR Doctors in Google - in case you need repair.

Our cameras were unplugged and then reinstalled (only partially uninstalled) and now we cannot get them to "reboot" We are getting an error of "video loss" I can not figure out how reboot the cameras so...

If your monitor is showing 'video loss' on each of the eight camera windows then the problem lies between the camera connections on the back of the Recorder and each camera. Without knowing what partially uninstalled means the troubleshoot process would be:
1. Use a voltmeter and check the camera power supply(s) line adapter where it splits to feed the cameras for full voltage- your unit should show 12Volts DC. Lack of voltage here and the cameras will not have power and cause 'no video' to the recorder.

2. Check the recorder menu to make sure that all camera inputs are turned on and are set to record. 'Covert' or hidden screens may not be viewed on a monitor but might show 'loss of video'.

3. It's highly unlikely that all cameras would fail at the same time so 1) if there is power and good video cable connections at the cameras, the next check would be to : 2) check each video connection into the back of the recorder and make sure that they are on camera "input", and not on a 'loop out' terminal by mistake.

If the above checks do not determine the fault, you would have to somehow feed a known good video signal into one of the camera inputs on the recorder and then troubleshoot the recorder.

If you repost what you have confirmed working we can re-assess.

My 625 unit (often not always) stops early and I miss the last min or so of the show. I have set all timers to 0 early and 0 late.

Hey jimmie love,

Just a quick clarification; does this only happen on certain shows? Some channels do run late.

You can always try setting the timer to end 2-3 minutes late and see if that works. Let me know here if you have any information or if you have any questions.

What should the securicam setting be, to view remotely for the dcs 5220 wireless camera

Wireless camera security systems are available at many stores such as Wal-mart, Fry's and Best Buymag-glass_10x10.gif. These systems can be used to monitor your home and possessions while away. This article will show how to set up such a system.
  1. Step 1 Decide what you want to see on your security system. Front doors, back doors and driveways are popular choices. Other choices may include living rooms, hallways and garages.
  2. Step 2 Wireless cameras are not completely wireless. They still need a wire for power. Most systems come with plug in adapter to power each camera. Most power wires are 4 to 6 feet long. The location of your cameras should be close to power outlets. Professional installers may run electrical wire inside walls and conceal the power outlets and adapters in junction boxes.
  3. Step 3 Each camera will need to be set to its own channel. Common channels for such systems are labeled A through D or 1 through 4. Drill holes into walls and mount the cameras with screws.
  4. Step 4 The wireless camera receiver will be positioned next to the television. Connect the receiver to the television using a cable that has a yellow, red and white connector on each end. Some systems may have an "S-video" connector and cable to connect it to the television. The receiver will also be powered by a plug in wall adapter. Connect it to the receiver and plug it into the wall.
  5. Step 5 Set the receiver to channel A or 1 and turn on the television. The channel of the television may need to be set to Game, Video In or some other name designating the input jacks used. Consult your television for more information.
  6. Step 6 The view from the camera that is set to channel A or 1 should be visible on the TV screen. Tilt the camera if needed to get the view you desire. Set the receiver to channel B or 2 and repeat with the camera that is set to B or 2. Repeat with the remaining 2 cameras.
  7. Step 7 More advanced users may connect the receiver to a VCR, DVR or computer. Digital video capture devices can be used to connect the receiver to the computer. Using video capture software, the video from the cameras can be broadcast on the internet using software such as Yawcam or WebcamXP. HomeCamera.com can also be used to monitor your cameras on the internet.

Channel 3/Camera 3 not displaying properly

try swapping the cam inputs first to rule out the unit, if not the camera may be faulty or needs setting up properly with a focus adapter, or the lens could need setting up!
when CCTV company's set up these systems they have all the equipment to plug in and focus auomatically etc..
Hope this helps!
Try looking at www.digitalvideos.co.uk (test equipment) section.
