How do i remove the screen to my Mitsubishi wd-62638

I want to remove my screen to clean my mirrors. I have already removed the top and side screws but can't find any more. The screen seems to be held by other screws that are eluding me.

For the model indicated (WD-62638) the entire screen unit needs to be removed.

Some models had two mirrors--the usual large one in back and a tiny one in the bottom front.

1. Locate and remove front plate below screen (where you may access the lamp as most of these are taken out from front)

2. Remove all the screws ON THE BACK OF THE SET around the top and both sides.

3. Remove a plate behind the removed lower front grill and there you should find a set of wires that go to front keyboard.

4. With that done look carefully at either front side below the screen unit---one screw on either side---do not remove but just back them out.

5. 2 person job---the entire screen unit lifts up and out.

6. DO NOT try to clean the large mirror---if touched with hand or your hair it will smudge and it will show in the picture.

7. If the little mirror is there at the bottom---it can be cleaned with glass cleaner---

8. Insert the screen unit back with the two front lower screws supporting it (have someone hold it in place until you line up and install all all the rear and then the 2 front screws.

Let me know if you have questions.

Mitsubishi wd 62527 has very dark picture changed

Clean the small front projection mirror. That mirror can get dust on it and will cause the projected image to appear dull and dim and cleaning that mirror will usually restore the brightness and crisp details in the image.

Picture is not crisp and clear

you may need to clean the mirrors. I had the same problem and read this procedure from another post. I did this and it greatly improved the quality of the picture:

Take the front speaker panel off and you will see two screws on the left and right top corners that hold the tabs for the screen, loosen them then go behind the tv and remove the screws around the perimeter of the back of the screen, 10 total, then remove the front center panel 4 screws and unplug the screen (easy to see which one) then just lift the screen straight up. Onced removed you can clean both mirrors. Dont use chemical cleaners, just a soft rag.

Bog and dust on mirror....showing up on screen, how best to clean?

remove pointy screws out of back of screen ( 3 up each side and 4 across top). remove speaker grill, remove 4 screws from center cover. remove 4 screws from bottom of tv, disconnect wire bundle. lift screen up and off. clean mirror facing up and lens. Do NOT touch big mirrror, trust me. put it back together by sliding screen back on and making sure all edges are flush before putting screws back in. the pointy ones go in the back every other screw is flat. good luck, should only take about 5 minutes.

My plasma screen has dimmed

i have been fighting a dark screen almos impossible to see dark scenes

i found this from another person
the mirror has dust on it easy fix
remove front of screen by removing screws around the top and sides of the back don't forget to pop off the bottom cover in the front it just pulls off
then remove center cover screws
i could not disconnect the front electrical plug but it has enough slack to lift and then tip the front screen down to the floor
it will be obvious on the mirrors there is a big one it wasn't to dirty
lean in and look down there is a small mirror and lens they were filthy
there is a piece of foam trying to keep the dust out it was sucked backed so dust could get in
clean with windex and paper towels cloth didn't work
good luck

Inside screen seems to be getting dirty

I had the same problem until I removed the screen and cleaned the front mirror with a static feather duster. First, turn OFF power. Second, remove screws on rear at top and on both sides of the screen. Third, remove speaker grill. Fourth, remove screws on each side of the screen where screen meets the speaker area. Fifth, remove two screws in center area of speaker area under screen. Sixth, lift screen up and away from set housing and use a duster with a two to three extension and GENTLY wipe the noticeable dust layer from the front tilted mirror located behind the screen at bottom of screen. Seventh, do everything in the REVERSE and you're done. If you need to replace the lamp, now's a good time to do so. Also you should clean the dust filter located behind an access door on the rear (right hand side as your are looking at the rear) with a handheld type of vacuum device.

After I completed ALL of the above procedures my WD-62525 was better than I remember. I bought it in 2005 and the picture quality has never looked so good.

The screen is as light as a feather but 62" is awkward. It is recommended you use another person to hold the screen but I work best alone and it was a breeze.

GOOD LUCK.
