Question about GE Profile Spectra JGBP90 Gas Kitchen Range

GE Spectra XL44 oes not heat to desired setting

I set my gas XL44 to 350 or 400 and it is lucky to get to 300. ASny ideas on why it does not go to 350 when I set it there?

    It starts heating withion 30 seconds. Would the ignitoe possibly be an issue if this is true or should I order the over sensor. I can but it for around 50 bucks.

    Can the ignitor actaully under perform so it would not reach the temperature desired?? Is it hard to switch the ignitors?? My model number is JGBP798EB588, is there a particular part for this model?

    I have the same problem. I love to bake and cannot bake anything in this oven. I had the repairman come out the first year I owned it and he said it calibrated properly. Unfortunately I believed him. I have been baking at my boyfriend's house, but now want to bake at home and can't with this stove/oven. I just wrote to GE

    Both ignitors work and I switched the Sensor. I think 1 issue might b when the bottom burner ignites the flmae seems somewhat high and normal anf then after a while turns down to a lover flame even before the oven has reached its desired temperature which slows the heating quite a bit. Is there a regulator issue that I might have for how much gas is being determined to use?I

The oven sensor ( WB21X5301) is suppose to tell the oven control when to turn on and off to reach and maintain oven temp, but before you go replacing it, try to observe how long it takes from the time you turn the oven on to the time the oven ignites. Ignition should be 30 seconds to about 90 seconds. If it is taking a very long time, replace the igniter (
). Ignitors get weaker over time, and this should be looked at first, as both parts are not real cheap, so you don't want to just start throwing parts at it. Here is a trick you can try: On the JGBP90 (model you posted under) the broil ignitor is the same part number as the oven ignitor, so if the broiler, which is generally used much less than the oven, is working fine you can interchange the two ignitors to see if that solves your oven temp problem without having to buy a oven temp sensor first.

    Sounds like a sensor then, but you can try this if you'd like: The broil ignitor is the same part number (on the JGBP90 you posted under) and the broiler is usually used much less, so you can switch them to see if it makes a difference before you order out a sensor. I'd also be leary of buying parts from non part dealers, as you don't know if their parts are really good or not. Have heard of lots of people buying parts off ebay, etc., and getting bad parts.

    Well, it is important to post under, or at least list the correct model number. The ignitor for a JGBP79BEB5BB is a
    WB13K21 and the sensor is the same

    WB21X5301 as the other model range uses.

    Another thing you should consider is how you are testing the oven temp. When I check the calibration of an oven, I use a digital thermometer with a remote probe which read down to the 1/10 of a degree. I make sure the oven cycles on and back off at least three times, then average the high and low readings after that. (with gas ovens, the difference from high to low is often only about 10 degrees F) Home oven thermometers generally are dial type bi-metal coils which react much slower and are not very accurate. Make sure if you are relying on one of those that you especially don't take a temp reading until at least 3 if not 5 or 6 oven on / off cycles.

    I have not seen a regulator issue on a gas range, other than if one was not converted when Nat to LP gas (or vise versa) was done. At this point a repair person may have to be called to use a manometer to check gas pressures. They will check pressure at the oven burner orifice with at least one top burner on. The range does not have more than one burner setting. It's either on or off. For this issue, you may have the best luck contacting your gas supplier.

Getting terrible gas mileage no one can find leak

I believe it is something they are putting in the gas. I have 2 cars that are getting worse mileage now than in the summer. 1 is a Prius the other is a Pontiac Vibe. The Prius used to go 450 miles on a full tank now i'm lucky if i get 300. I also asked a co worker and he said the same thing, less mileage. I wouldn't get nuts trying to find something mechanically wrong with your car.

Hi All your love, Lucky boy, The vehicle is fairly old and I suspect it has a points and condenser ignition system. Renew the points and replace the condenser. Set the gap to .45 mm and then set up the firing position by loosening the distributor locking base and setting it at 6 degrees before top dead center. I think it is not a fuel problem but instead, ignition timing. Regards John

What are you using the CAT5 for - speakers or Line Level?

Lamp cord would work (cheap) for the speakers and there's no reworking necessary. I wouldn't pass Line Level on CAT5, ever.

I have a Nakamichi BX-300 cassette deck. The idler wheel assembly is broken. Where would I be able to find a spare?

Definitely the spare will be available with the nearest Nakamichi dealer close to you as you will need to check on your yellow pages or the net. But if there is no hope thenthe best way to go about is to identify the repair shop closer to you that has old sets, Youmay be lucky to find and salvage from an old set which would have the mechanism intact but with an electronic failure. Please search also on the site here for the NakamichiBX-300 models which had a serious failure to be bartered. hope it works out. Good day.

Does not hold oven temperature

I have the same problem. I had a repairman come out and they told me it was the control panel and thermo sensor. Replaced both and still didn't fix the problem! Can't return the parts and now into the stove for over $370! I wish I had put that money towards a new stove :-(
