Question about JVC KD-S580 CD Player
I installed a JVC KD-S580 into my 1990 Geo. After I installed the head unit it would not play. The problem was not that it was not getting power because it would accept a cd and eject a cd, but once it accepted the cd it would turn off. I would also display the time for a short period if I hit the display button but would turn off after a couple of seconds. Basically the unit would not turn on to play the radio or a cd. The only functions it would perform were accepting a cd, ejecting a cd, and displaying the time for a short period when the display button was pressed. When I applied pressure to the back of the unit (not the wires)it would play until i released the pressure. If anyone can help me with my problem it would be highly appreciated.
I have the same problem in a 2001 mercury cougar. i got power all the way to the back of the radio from the ignition (red) and constant (yellow) wires and the ground wire is good. Think the head unit might be screwed the fuses are all fine. not sure though
