Question about LG LFX25971ST Bottom Freezer French Door Refrigerator

1 Answer

Everything in and outside our fridge is getting a black soot on it?

Not sure if I have the correct model number, but this looks like the fridge. I noticed on plastic items: iced tea pitcher, white tupperwares that they all had black stuff on it. When I wipe down the inside of the fridge the papertowel has black on it. Even items outside the fridge in my kitchen have the black soot type stuff.

SOURCE: Fridge not getting cold freezer working correctly in LG LRFC22750

We need to find the reason for the restriction of cold air from your freezer making its way to top of the fresh food section. Because cold air is heavier than warm air you will get these symptoms for several different reasons. If you do not already have Adobe Reader you can get a free download here=> Adobe Reader X (10.1.1) Just uncheck the box if you do not want a Google Chrome download. Click here for a=> LRFC22750 Service Manual Then Click Here=> LRFC22750 Parts Manual The components listed in the parts manual begins with a photo page and part location numbers. You will need to scroll down from page 1 to page 7 below this photo page that begins with the location numbers and to the right the model number has three columns each different part number follows below in each column.

I want you to look for any signs of frost build up on the rear wall of your freeze. If yes the symptons are listed below as the most likely reasons that will cause this to happen

for your model can be also found on page's 13 and 14 of your models Service Manual
Possible Causes
Symptoms: Frost or ice on evaporator.

1. Defrost thermostat faulty->Check defrost thermostat. Replace if failed.

2. Evaporator fan faulty ->Check fan motor. Replace if failed.

3. Defrost control faulty ->Check control and replace if failed.

4. Defrost heater remains open -> Check defrost heater continuity. Replace if failed.

5. Open wire or connector -> Check wiring and connections. Repair as necessary.

6. Refrigerant shortage or restriction -> This will look very different than a totally frosted over evaporator. As Freon slowly is lost the evaporator may appear to have ice on half of evaporator as the leak becomes worse the ice melts and cooling is affected more until there is no cooling. Click here for what that looks like=> Lack of Freon
Understanding the way LG uses part numbers is tricky at times so ask if you need help with part numbers or questions about Controls that are likely the reason for the symptoms you mentioned in your post. Ask if you need I will be here to answer any questions you may have, rate if helpful and please ask if you need more answers, Thanks John Tripp/ AKA Sea Breeze

Black smoke coming from heater vent?

Hi, propane heaters are very well known for Sooting up. If the gas pressure is not correct on the MGV, this will cause the heater to soot up fast. You will need to have the inlet and manifold gas pressure checked at the tank and heater. This furnace has to be cleaned up!! You will need to call out a tech to check the inches of water column.

Cant change temperature in fridge

you have to send the full model number off of the fridge, open the fridge door, look up near the ceiling on the left or right hand wall depending on your model and you'll see a tag with the model and serial numbers, just send the model number,g.e. makes hotpoint machines so most likely you have a bad computer board or mother board same thing,,usually it takes a wr55x10942 and it's around 150 to 200 hundred dollars but need the model number to check it,some take a different board but this is the common'll find the board located on the back outside wall of the fridge, pull it out away from the wall, remove the screws and cover but first unplug the machine before you touch the board or remove the cover, there are 4 plastic clips holding the board in place,i use a needlenose plyers to pinch the clips and slide the bord out one at a time and then you can look at the back of the board to see if it has any burn marks on it,everything runs through the board and g.e. has had problems with the boards.don't order this board until you make sure this is the part for your machine by checking it with the model number .good luck.

if you go to the sears site, look at the bottom of the fresh food door and you'll see the cam. cam raises the door, have you found any plastic pieces near the fridge, the picture of the cam is black, some are white or black, you can also look at the bottom hidge of both doors and you should see the part that's gone or broke.the sears site isn't working correctly,i don't know if it's my computer or the site but i had to go to another site that i use to look up your machine, next time you write in get the model number off of the machine, when you get the model number off of the manual it's a partial number,if you open the fridge door and look up on the right side near the ceiling you'll see a tag with the model and serial numbers, good luck, the fridge door is easy to do,no wires or water lines to deal with, remove the cover on top, remove the screws and lift the door off of the bottom hindge, empty everything off of the door first, then lay it on it's side and change the parts.good luck,if you have any other questions let me know,i'm in the boston area,if you're around here and get stuck let me know and we can come by and take care of it for you.

My ge profile refrigerator won't keep it's temperature setting?

G.E. has had problems with the main computer board located on the back outside wall of the machine, you need to give the parts store or whoever you get the board from the full model number to get the correct board.i looked up the machine with the number you sent but there are 2 different boards that they show so open the fridge door, look up near the ceiling on the right hand wall and you'll see the model and serial number, all you need is the full model number or you can send it to me and i can look it up for you.good luck
