OK, the ping just tells you the computer can talk to the printers through the network connection. You need to enter the Printer/Copiers Configuration and make sure it is setup to print from the TCP/IP connection. Some of these will let you setup the connection but will not use it unless you tell it to.

HPlaserjet 2600n without IP

INSTALLING A NETWORK PRINTER These instructions generally apply to all network printers with built-in network cards (print servers) such as HP LaserJet printers, IBM Infoprint laser printers etc. This example is for a network HP LaserJet printer. To install a HP printer (with built-in Jetdirect print server) as a network printer on a wireless network . You need to do the following -
1. Open the printer\'s menu and enable the Network Card - these print servers use a static IP address therefore, configure the IP address of the network card so it matches the IP range of your network. Eg. If your IP\'s are 192.168.0.xxx then set the network card to a high number say 100. (This is to prevent a conflict with the router issuing the same IP address to a computer on your network). Then set the Subnet Mask IP address to 255.255.255.0 If you have a wireless router then check the IP address range that the router issues to the computers on your network and configure the static IP address in the printer\'s network configuration accordingly.
2. Install the HP printer driver on your computer/s using the LPT printer port.
3. Connect the printer with a LAN cable to the network hub/router.
4. Click on Printers and Faxes - right click on the HP printer and click on Properties.
5. Click on Ports and click on Add Port.
6. In available ports - click on Standard TCP/IP Port and then Configure port.
7. Tick the IP box and type in the IP address of the HP\'s printer IP address.
8. Click OK and tick Enable bi-directional support and then OK
9. Remove the printer cable, then do a test print to see if the printer prints correctly.
Install the HP printer driver on every computer on your network and configure the printer\'s TCP/IP port as previously detailed. Do a test print page to check the printer.
You can now print from any computer on your network.

Where is IP address for the MFC-7220 printer

Network printers do not have a set IP address, you need to configure the printer with an IP address that uses the same range of IP addresses as your network.
The IP configuration is normally done through the printer's Menu on the printer's buttons.
If your are using a network IP range 192.168.0.*** that your wireless router issues automatically then select a fixed IP address on your printer above the number of computers that is installed on your network. (ie if you have 10 computers the make the printer's fixed IP address say 192.168.0.30) so the wireless router cannot issue a conflicting IP address.
When you install the printer driver on each computer then go to the Printer Properties - Port tab - click Add Port - IP port and enter the printer's fixed IP address and printer name.
Do a test print to check if your computer connects to the network printer.

Someone is using my ip address

There are a couple of very valid ways that the same IP addresses might appear to be in use by several different computers. If the voting software using only your IP address to check for voting abuse, then it's not doing as good a job as it should be.

Two scenarios come to mind immediately: routers and bad IP detection.
As I've discussed before, a router allows several computers to share a single internet connection. One side effect of doing so is that all the computers that are sharing that connection appear on the internet as having the same IP address. The internet IP address actually belongs to the router, and it manages the routing the appropriate data to and from the appropriate computer behind it.
If you're in a home or small business that uses a router to share an internet connection, then any of the other computers could have voted and appeared as having come from the same IP address your computer would.
If you're connecting from a larger facility, say a school or corporation, the same issue can arise. Many facilities connect their internal network to the internet through a set of routers. A company of several thousand might appear as only a handful of IP addresses on the internet. If someone else within the company voted, it's quite possible that you might appear as the same IP address when you attempt to vote later.
"Using just the IP address to counter voter fraud and other types of abuse is common because it's easy." And then there's AOL.
When last I checked, I believe AOL puts all of its subscribers behind the equivalent of a collection of routers. Therefore when you as an AOL user connect to a web site you may be using the same IP address as some other AOL subscriber who came before you.

There's another problem that could be at play here as well.
If you're behind a router, your IP address is an IP address on your local network, not the internet. Most consumer routers use the 192.168.1.x range. In fact, most will start assigning IP addresses at 192.168.1.1, then 192.168.1.2, then 3 and so on.
As a result there are thousands of machines out there at IP address 192.168.1.1 on their local network.
If the voting abuse software attempts to use the IP address of the machine rather than the IP address of the machine's connection to the web site, then it'll just be wrong. The first person with an IP of 192.168.1.1 might be able to vote, but all that follow would be seen as coming from the same address.
It's very unlikely, but it is one additional way that the voting abuse detection scheme might fail.

Using just the IP address to counter voter fraud and other types of abuse is common because it's easy. As you can see, that often has the unintended side-effect of blocking more than just a single abuser. Unfortunately blocking an individual computer for these types of accesses is difficult - at least doing so in a way that isn't trivial to circumvent is difficult. The most common alternate approach is to require registration and login to vote, which naturally reduces the number of voters as people are reluctant to jump through the additional hoops.

How to connect my Linksys router with my wi tribe modem?? my laptop pick up the wireless signal and can connect,,it says "connected" but when you open a page it says either "invalid server...

The Linksys Wireless router is fine, but your latop is not configured for DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). The computer is connected to the router at layer 2, whereas HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol), sits
atop the TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) layer, and seems to be trying to
query the ISP's (Internet Service Provider) network for a nameserver (via DNS (Dynamic Name Service) protocol) that doesn't exist on the ISP's network. Configuring the laptop for DHCP and specifying no nameserver will fix this (the ISP's network will dynamically assign a DNS).

Its also possible (though a remote possibility) that your Linksys wifi router may be configured to disallow TCP/IP virtual circuits to/from your computer's IP address - but this is a really advanced
capability of your Linksys wifi router - few know this capability even exists.

Connecting multiple wifi devices to the Linksys router should be no problem, just configure them all to interact with the router using DHCP.

C309 shows off line on some computers and we have to turn them off to print then on

What may be going on is every computer has this identification called a IP ADDRESS this is what you internet identifies your computer with, your printer also has one of these. What i have seen happen is when you install your printer onto a computer the computer gets the printers IP ADDRESS so it knows where to print to. If you have a Hub/Router that is fairly old sometimes they drop IP ADDRESS and then have to make a new one for the device, So if your printer is connect and then drops connection from your interent the IP ADDRESS gets reset on the printer, So when your restarting your computer then your Computer is saying oh look the printer has a new IP address I better connect to it. That's why once you restart you can then connect. The best way to fix this is to give your printer what is called a STATIC IP ADDRESS this means it will always have the same address to connect to! This can be a very technical thing to do yourself, I would recommends having a computer person set this up for you!

Is the DCHP shut off on the machine? If it is on auto, it most likely changed the IP address.
Print out a configuration page, get the IP address and enter that into you web browser address box.
It sounds like the machine IP address has changed .
