The fusing unit doesn't heat up. If you had a power surge, chances are the thermistor might have gone out. It's an easy part to replace.

I have a Phillips 55smart tv. It will not turn on, lost power four days ago. Now it will not turn on I think I tried it all. From buttons in back, remote, new power strip. Nothing Any thoughts

Chances are a power surge when the power went out took out the power supply board, you can pull the back if your comfortable doing it and look and see if the main fuse is blown and I think it will be, you have a 5% chance of a new fuse fixing it, this set is made by Funai in China and is quite poorly manufactured with lots of issues in the power supply and won't take anything like a power surge without the board failing. You may have a hard time finding this board however as they are usually in short supply because of the high failure rate...Good luck

Pioneer VSX-94 lost sound

The surge probably affected the power supply. The UPS only maintains operation for a limited time in the event of power loss.

Won't start after power outage

Most people don't think to plug this type of thing into a surge protected outlet, or surge protector. Probably when the power came on there was a power surge and fried the system. Sometimes homeowners insurance will cover things like that.

A power surge fried my Epson Home Lite projector HDMI port......how much does it cost to repair or is it pretty easy to buy the part & fix yourself?

I have lost many things to power surges; sometimes it's only the electric cord (can be replaced), sometimes it's the battery (for lap tops), sometimes it's the electrical socket itself (try plugging into a different one). Worst case scenario the whole thing is fried (not all power surges are equal) now that I have everything plugged into surge protectors I only see them fry (beats losing another computer) try plugging it in without the surge protector or extension cord (if you were using one).

I THINK I JUST FRIED MY WII THERE WAS A POP NOISE AFTER A POWER SURGE IS THERE ANY WAY THAT i CVAN CHANGE THE FUSE OR IS MY WII FRIED FOREVER?

i have had some experience in taken apart a wii before to modify the case and i never noticed a fuse inside i know some systems (not sure if hte wii does) have a built in surge protection and to reset it you must unplug it from the wall for some time and then plug it back in. But i do fear you may have "fried" your wii.

I have an HD 32 inch television and the power wont

Talk to Sylvania about your TV. If your TV is fried (if it's off it's still vulnerable) they MIGHT be nice and replace it. I recommend you protect all your electronics with surge protectors, since they'll help you should this happen again.

I have a memory frame, modle mf-810. I received it 3-4 years ago, I think. It's worked wonderfully until about 2 months ago when we had a power surge. Is this a power cord problem? or is the frame...

a power surge may have fried it if you don't have a breaker switch on the plug that you plug your power supply into. The only way to really determine is to connect your photo frame into a second power supply if you have one to see if it works. I found out the hard way to always have a circuit breaker for my computer units after a power out fried my computer hard drive.

Power Surge at Home

This time it came in on the cable, the clue was the cable box also blew. So if you had a cable surge supression device...for HDTV, I think you would have survived the second surge.

I do have the technology. It is a F-connector type and will handle HDTV signal.
