It's most likely the tube that leads from the freezer to the drain pan for the defrosting cycles.

SOURCE: The water dispenser bar on my side by side

Hi Cranberry,

The part your looking for is #8201537. You can see it here.

Threading it through the door is simple if you know the secret to it. First you need to go to hardware store and get something like this about an inch, inch and a quarter. Take a piece of 1/4" tubing with you to make sure the "all-thread" will screw into the tubing snugly.

Now, screw the all-thread into the spout end of the existing tubing (the one in your fridge right now) about half the length of the all-thread. Then take the tail end of the new tubing and thread it onto the left over stub of all-thread.

Open both doors and remove the bottom grill (it's snapped in place) then close the doors. Below the freezer door hinge, you'll see the tubing coupling. Disconnect it and remove the ferrule for use on your new tubing later. Now at the same time, begin pushing the tubing from the top and pulling it from the bottom.

Did you throw away the first full bucket of ice it made? Also, check the filter and make sure it doesnt have anything in it. Most with water and ice have an inline filter in the fridge portion.

Depends if there is plastic tubing running inside fridge compartment. Shut off water to fridge. If that stops it you will have to look inside to see if there is visible plastic water tubing or if you can get to it from inside the fridge. Maybe the water line has a defect or got pinched and somehow split. Then turn on water, find leak and splice in a replacement section.

I have a Maytag plus, side by side fridge (MSD2758DRB) that is leaking from the freezer side, bottem of the door where the plastic tube comes out, what can i do to find out how to fix it!

Same problem here, took apart the entire door. Most likely it's a problem with ice defrosting inside the door. It was not the tube that runs through the door, there are no joints or washers inside. Perhaps seal on door edge is letting warm air through.

Waterline on back of refridgerator keeps popping out and leaking

There should be a compression fitting that seals the water tube to the fridge. The fitting looks like a brass or plastic nut that the tubing sticks into. Shut off water supply to the fridge and carefully remove the fitting nut...there should be cone shaped compression ring inside the fitting nut. Slide the nut over the tube, then the compression ring over the tube. If the compression ring is tapered towards one end, then put the narrow end towards the end of the tube. Now stick the tube up to the fitting on the fridge where the nut screws on to the fridge. Hold the tubing firmly against the fitting and slide the compression ring and nut up to the fitting and screw the nut back on (compression ring should be inside the nut). You must hold the tubing firmly against the fitting until you get the nut tightened back down good with a wrench. This should take care of it.

If you find that the tip of your tube end is damaged, then you may have to cut off the tip of the tube to get it to seal and hold. If you find that the compression ring is damaged (won't slide over the tubing) or missing, then you can go to Lowe's or Home Depot and get a new nut and compression ring...they are cheap. You can also get new tubing there if you need it.

Fridge water "overflow" ?

It is supposed to drain to a plastic tray under the fridge. There is usually not a lot of water that drips down there... and the water usually will evaporate before overflowing.
If the water is draining on the inside of the fridge, then the drain tube on the rear of the fridge might be clogged. You should be able to remove the tube fairly easily, and then see if you can blow air into it to see if its clogged. Sometimes it just gets clogged with dirt and dust. If the tube is clogged, and you cannot blow air through it, then see if you can get a small somewhat flexible wire and push it through the tube.
Hopefully it will make it all the way to the other side.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
Mac =)

Older maytag fridge side by side.

Buk, there's supposed to be a drain pan under your fridge to catch the water that comes from the drain tube. The water that's coming out is supposed to be there (only, it's supposed to be caught by the drain pan)... it's the water that's made when your fridge defrosts itself. If you plug the tube, the water will back up inside the fridge , puddle up in the bottom and eventually leak out through the door.

You should order a drain pan for it. Here's a link to one online. After you have it in place, you won't have to worry about it anymore. The water that collects there will simply evaporate back into the air.
