Kenmore 80 series. RUNS LOUD, THEN TURNS OFF AND RESETS...

Hi. My Kenmore 80 series (top loading) recently stopped working properly. My roomate loaded the washer with WAY TO MUCH clothes. Ever since then, the following has been happening:

Washer fills just fine, once spin cycle begins or even a draining cycle, the washer runs pretty loud for about 30 seconds... Then, it just shuts off. It will wait between 2-5 minutes, and repeat again. The washer is spinning while this is going on. It looks to be working while attempting to run. But it seems to shut itself off????

Any ideas???

Thanks so much!

Great! Thanks a bunch! I'm going to give that a shot right now. I'll look online, I hate to be a pest, but would I remove the pump by removing the back from the machine and getting in there that way? Or would I be able to get to that from the loader?

I'm in the process of removing the back now anyway... Will I notice the pump right away? Or is there something I should be looking for?

    Thanks again!

You have something gotten into your pump ,,, it trys to drain and spin but overloads the motor and shuts down till the motor switch resets .... remove the pump and take out whatever gotten in it and if that not possable replace the pump.

1st you dont remove the back to get to it ,,,, take the 2 screws out of the console and pull it forward slitly and tilt back, unplug the 3 with plug from cabinet, remove the 2 hold down clips to the cabinet tilt forward and slide off ,,,, the pump is at the bottom with 2 hoses ,,,, only 2 clips holds it on ,,, go back same as taking apart

We have a Kenmore 80 series top load washer model 110.28803890. When the timer moves to spin it makes a load clicking noise and does nothing.

Timers are not supposed to make loud clicks. If it is, it's going bad. The same problem happened with my parent's Estate washer. It its on it's third timer!

Kenmore 80 Series Mod:110.23832100 top load that with heavy clothes (towells robes) won't drain and leaves excessive water after spin cycle. Everything appears to function otherwise, no odd noises. No...

Hi,
When you are putting the heavy clothes (towels robes) the sleeves of the towels will come out easily and get stuck in between the drain out valve so it will not sent the water out properly please avoid heavy clothes(towels robes) try to give a normal load

Won't complete cycle, stops at rinse. and can't get hot water.

Are you on well water? turn off the cold water to the washer and clean the screen filter out. do not leave filter out.
the machine probably has a cold only final rinse so it won't work properly.

Kenmore 80 series washer leaves soap residue on clothes no matter

After speaking with someone with trouble shooting experience in these matters, I now believe the problem lies NOT with the washer but with a bad batch of laundry detergent which fails to dissolve properly in the water.

Kenmore 80 series spins but won't ring out clothes

Check for buildup of detergent/foaming while washing. Check for oil leaks around the clutch area. Could also be the clutch lining is worn out. Replacement parts kit includes all parts

Top half of dual agitator stop working.

Most likely th agitatot dogs have worn out.. The part number is80040. They are located inside the agitator thy look like quotation marks. There is also a kit available which includes the dogs but more often it is just the dogs that are the problem. Good Luck.
