Only the correct replacement board should be installed--another even if similar looking will not work.

SOURCE: no picture

Had the same problem, Insignia 32 would click on then go off. About 6 months ago I found (somewhere on the net) a guy who explained that he changed blown capacitors. As I recall he even posted a picture. I found the blown capacitors and replaced them with larger capacitors (less than $20) problem solved...
But now my screen image is showing only half a picture and is pulsing on a off.
I think I'm going to make a Wii commercial......GL

Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. critical board failure, if there was a spark from the tv then the transformer has blown, if there was no electrical problems they should replace the board and have it investigated. in some areas of the work lightning strikes are covered in the warranty as safety devices are on all electronic to cut out the voltage, its an in built trip. when the voltage goes back down it resets and lets voltage though again. all electronics have these in them these days that has high voltage use.

Onida 32" LCD TV

There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Horizontal line on screen denotes the absensce of vertical sweep itself. Check the vertical output section circuit to LA7840. Check for any loose solder terminals. It will be best to measure the input voltage to that IC from the LOT secondary supply. Try by replace the IC. If these do not help you, measure the frequency from the main IC. It should be at 50Hz. If this frequency is not present, the main IC is faulty. If you wish to get some more details about the circuit, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up older posts there, either by its left side bar, or see it in Timslide option. Schematic diagrams, that show vertical IC LA7840 is given. You can compare it.

Bravia wont power on

Good day!!!!

TV won't power ON..

This is the common problem..

Power supply board or main board..

Please try this procedure to determine the faulty parts.

  1. Open the back cover.
  2. Check the input of the power supply board it should have 220vac or 110vac depends on your voltage comes from the outlet.
  3. If you don't have voltage input of PSU..Please or try to replace the power cord.
  4. If you have voltage input on PSU..Please check the output voltage of it..It should have 5vdc for the main board,12 or sometime 16vdc for the audio and 24vdc for the inverter board(back-light).
  5. If you encounter voltage drop on the output..Please check the power supply board if have leak/bulged on the top capacitors..Please replace it with the same type, ratings and value.
  6. If the 3 voltages mention above are normal..Your main board is defective you need to replace it because main board is not for D.I.Y repair due to the surface mount type parts on it..

I hope this solution will be helpful..

Thanks for using fixya...

Good day!

This are the steps to find and fix that problem.

  1. Open the cover of your TV.
  2. Disconnect the input supply of system board or main board that comes from the power supply unit.
  3. Power ON the TV to check the voltage reading of disconnected connector to the input of system board by using voltmeter.
  4. Check the 5vdc and 12vdc by using voltmeter. If you got voltage reading of 5vdc and 12vdc,try to connect the input connector of the system board and check the voltage again. If no voltage when you connect it.There's a shorted parts on your system board.Replace the whole system board because its very difficult and expensive to repair it.
  5. When the input voltage of system board doesn't have 5vdc and 12vdc even disconnected on the board. The problem is on power supply.
Check the following:
  • Fuse-Check the fuse if busted.
  • Transistor and diode-Check the transistor and diode if shorted.
  • Resistor-Check the resistor if open/change value.
  • Capacitor-Check the capacitor if leak/bulge on top.
If you found the defective parts that mention above.Replace it with the same type and ratings.
NOTE:If the following parts are OK and the problem is still there. The power supply have major problem and its not for D.I.Y..

Thank you and good luck

I have a Insignia 32 inch LCD TV Model number NS-LCD32. It recently started displaying no inputs. The backlight comes on but no inputs/ no sound. Green lines display if you press the menu, input, channel...

The first troubleshooting step would be to measure all the voltages from the power supply to the other circuits boards specially the 5 volts going to the main board. If you have the following: Insignia 6HA0112010 Power Supply, check FU502 for open conditions.
If all the voltages appear normal, then the main board should be replace since is hard to find individual components for a component level repair.

Sound with no picture..backlight working

This failure could be due to a backlight inverter board or the power supply is not providing the 24 volts to it.
The way to fix it is by measuring the voltages from the power supply to the backlight inverter board, if the voltage is present then the backlight inverter board is defective and will need to be replace. If the voltage is lower then 20 volts, then is a power supply failure.
Click here to find the backlight inverter board.
Let me know if you need further assistance. I repair power supplies for all LCD models.
