I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-F3 digital camera. I recently brought a transcend 32gb sdhc memory card for it but every time I insert the memory card into the camera, this message appears "memory card full, insert sd card again". Do i need to format the card? if so, how do i do this?

Thanks chris, i tried that but when the memory card is inside the camera, i screen turns completely white and the message won't disappear unless i turn off the camera and take out the memory card. As a result, i am unable to access the format or any other settings when this message appears with the memory card in it. Do you have any other suggestions?

Hi My Lumix FZ28 works with a SDHC 8GB but not with a Micro sd 32GB even if I formatted it to Fat32. By the way if your card does not work you do not have access to the settings menu of the camera so you cannot format in the camera !!!!

Yes format the memory card. Go into the camera's Menu and select Foemat memory card.

Try resetting the camera by removing the battery for 20 mins. Replace the battery then go to the Camera's Menu to set the Date & Time etc.

SOURCE: My Lumix DMC ZS7 reads

SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but they are slightly different electrically. Many cameras won't work with SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

If your manual doesn't specifically mention SDHC cards or memory card size bigger than 2GB, then the camera almost certainly won't work with SDHC. My Lumix won't work with anything larger than 1GB SD.

My Panasonic Lumic DMC-F3 Will start to record videos, but when I go to stop the recording and save it to the camera, it says "Read Error" and shuts itself down... I don't know what it is. Any ideas? And...

Make sure you are not using an incompatible card like a SDHC card which looks identical. If the F3 can use those cards, make sure you format it in the menu system. If it still fails, try another card, it may be bad. Remove the card and do a short recording to internal memory to check system, if it is capable.

SD cards max out at 2GB. However you may also use SDHC cards, which max out at 32GB, or 64GB SDXC cards.

How big of a memory card can I use in my panasonic lumix DMC-TZ1 camera? 2gbs , 4gbs or 8 gbs. thank you from Douglas James misterdoug2003@yahoo.com

Doug,

The Panasonic DMC-TZ1 camera supports SDHC cards. SDHC is a "Secure Digital High Capacity" memory card, and the spec says an SDHC capable device can use any SDHC card - so, you can go 16GB, 32GB or more - limited only by how much money you want to spend.

Enjoy your camera!
