This chair only has one large screw that one end threads into the mechanics underneath the bottom of the chair and the other end slides into a hole on the wheel base. There is a half circle domed cap with a screw coming out of one side to tighten it to the rod. It seems that I am missing a piece of the mechanics from under the seat that would actually keep the seat upright....I don't know and I can't seem to find one that looks like mine broken down piece by piece on the internet to check....any suggestions?.

Without sounding like a smart ***, have you checked the adjustors under the seat. Some handles are 3way handles and can do multiple adjustments. If you have adjusted all the knobs and handles, maybe it is leaking gas or in some case oil. Some of these chairs have an extra knob at the back of the seat along the column of the back rest, as to lock it in the desired position. Good luck.

SOURCE: How do you take an office chair apart?

To disassemble an office chair you must first turn it upsidedown. There is likely either a bolt thatneeds to be removed with a screw driver or a small circle that can be opened byturning it counter clockwise. Once youhave removed the bold or opened the circle you can remove the rest of the cogswith a screw driver.

SOURCE: How do you know which office chair is the best?

While comfort is the obvious answer, there are a few otherfactors that go in to choosing an office chair since you will spend so muchtime in it. You want to consider howmuch weight it can without, if it has good customer reviews, if it swivels, ifyou can raise the seat and back, if it rolls or is stationary.

SOURCE: What is a good height for an office chair?

I'd say anything above 16 inches would fit. A lever is important to have as you might want to adjust your chair's heigh when changing tables / seating positions. I used to go to several stores to find the most comfy chair and I ended up at Macy's ( ) recently. They have some really nice and high quality office furnitures!

I inherited a Turnstone office chair model #TS38001 and can't figure out how to lock the back so I don't always feel like I'm in a recliner. I need to be able to sit straight. Thanks! Terry

You may have inherited the chair because the back could not be adjusted. I have found that many office chairs lack lumbar support.

Seat sloped too far forward

You need to be sitting in the chair and the middle lever is the one which releases and secures the angle. I find the adjustment is easier if you release the backrest lever, the third lever to the rear, lean back in the chair which will raise the front seating cushion while moving the backrest back. Using you feet on the floor push back in the chair until the seat feels better. When it is at an angle you like, push the middle lever down to lock the seat in place. Then adjust the backrest with the third lever.

Pronto m41 moves slow at all times

If you have a seat lift on your chair, you will have to lower the seat lift. This is call limp mode so the chair does not move to fast and tip over while the person is in the chair. If this is not the case, then your chair controller may be over heating and it will also cause the chair to go into limp mode. this is a better option than totally stopping. the way to correct this is to let the chair sit and "cool down" for a little while. It usually takes about 30 minutes, sometimes less in cooler environments to get the chair back to normal use. If neither are the solution, then you have a problem with the chair that causes the controller to reduce the output. You will need to get an authorized Tech to check the chair out to determine the root cause.

The repairman for our vendor figured out, as he was about to replace some mechanisms so our Boss B9431 chairs would tilt, that they were not broken! While flipping down the paddle on the left can lock the chair in a particular angle, once you've tilted it, it will not tilt IF the height adjustment lever on the right is PUSHED IN towards the chair, locking out the capability of tilting. You have to gently pull the height lever away from the chair, sliding 0.5 or 0.7 inches, to activate the tilt ability. This may be the case with other models, or may not.
