Question about Dell Optiplex GX280 (99301) Motherboard
This computer was purchased on a military auction and it was working fine for about 2 months. Now it stopped from booting at all, and the fan, won turned on, sounds like a Boeing 757 jet.
I read in different posts and forms that caps are bad (I looked at some and they have a brown, dried up goo on top), so it must be true. How can I tell the type of motherboard I need to purchase to replace this?
It looks like (as seen on some pictures that matches mine) that is a Dell Optiplex GX280 SMT Motherboard
If the processor is ok, you can just change the motherboard. Then look for a compatible motherboard that can accept your processor.
