My scanner is plugged in but when I try to scan a document it says my scanner is not responding

Hello,

If it is your first time using your printer, then you need to install the driver for it to work.

If you have used your printer without any problem before then, there are two possible reasons why your printer/scanner is having that issue:

1. Connection error
2. Driver problem

First thing's first. Restart your computer and your printer. there are times that computers and printers just need a restart for it to work. Yes, it's strange but it's how things work with machines. They need rebooting to work smoothly.

If rebooting your computer and printer won't fix the problem. Here are the things that you can do.

1. Connection error:
.
a. Turn off your printer and turn it back on. Try scanning, if no go.. proceed to step b.

b. Unplug your printer from your computer and unplug it's power cord and press and hold the printer's power button to 5-8 seconds to completely drain the power. Plug it back in to the wall outlet leaving the connection between your computer and the printer still unplugged. wait until your printer completely turns on. Plug it to your computer and do the scanning process.

If all steps above don't work, then you need to check the driver.

Uinstall the driver of your computer by going to the control panel. After uinstalling it, then reinstall it by using the dvd that came with your printer. Follow the on-screen instructions and try scanning. It should work.

If it doesn't, please reply to this thread.

Thank you for using fixya.com

Printer is printing very slow

hi,
issue # 1: if this printer is connected using USB, one of the reasons why this printer is printing slow because of the quality of your graphics.
resolution: if you are printing a very large file "picture" I suggest to change the resolution of the image

issue # 2: Most often than not, operating system take major factor on the slowness of the procedure or a task.
resolution: - restart PC/laptop - Resolution: clear up some space from your PC/laptop "disk cleanup utility" - close unused programs
issue # 3: anti virus protection "firewall"
resolution: - turn off firewall - turn off auto scan process
issue # 4: the printer itself - relocate usb cable to another port then restart printer

reply from again and answer this question so that I could assist you better:
1. what is operation system? 2. what are you trying to print? 3. does it happens on all you printing jobs? 4. what is your anti virus system? 5. does your printing got stuck in the printer spooler?

Try the drives in another usb port set, for example at the back or the front of the computer in a diffrent set of plugs than where the printer is.
