Beth Stakes,

You can disable the inactivity standby option in the menu. Go to Main Menu > Preferences > Updates. You can adjust the time to extend it or disable it all together!

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thank you, the inactivity feature was driving us all mad. We have an almost 2 year old that will watch baby tv and just when she has settled down for the evening and is relaxing and not getting into things this will turn go into the inactivity mode and she becomes quite upset. This should help solve that problem, can't thank you enough! :-)

Thank You! I have been on that same screen, but overlooked the option due to the way it is formated. Now that I have disabled the auto turn-off feature, my pet "loves to watch tv" will no longer be left in the dark while I am away for long periods of time.

SOURCE: error code 04ee on Dish

Hello this is luke. I do not know of any 04 ee error code on dish network. The closest will be 004. Try to check if it is coming from the receiver or from the tv by unplugging the receiver from wall outlet while tv is on. If the code stays, then it is from the tv, if it goes away with the lights on receiver, it is from the receiver. Let me know.

How to hook up Dish Network Receiver

which Dish Receiver do u have. if it is a Dual Tuner (322,625,622, 722) u run a RG6 Coax from the Dish to the back of the Receiver. on back of the receiver there should be two ports (Dish 1,, and Dish2) u will need two short pieces of coax and a Separator ,(which should have come with the Receiver. u hook the coax from the outside Dish to the single port of the Separator , now u run a coax (or RCA or what ever) to the TV. Turn on TV and Receiver.
on the Dish remote u hit the Menu button and hit #6 then #1 and #1 again (wait for each screen to change ) u should see a signal bar at the bottom. U will need to get someone to turn the dish a little at a time till u get a signal. once u get a strong signal u hit the Check Switch and let it program.

Enable inactivity standby

Hi there Janice! My name is Kimberly and I form part of the Social Media Department with DISH. It is my pleasure to assist you. The procedure to Enable or Disable the Inactivity Standby Mode on your receiver will depend on the model of receiver you have. If you have a Hopper, you will need to press 'Menu' on your remote, select 'Settings', then 'Diagnostics, and at last 'Updates'. Once you are in the updates screen you will be able to Disable it Enable the hours. Be sure to select 'Save' once you have selected an option.
If you currently have a VIP 722 dvr, you will need to press 'Menu' > 'Preferences' and then 'Updates' Be sure to selecet the hours of Inactivity before the receiver goes into Stanby and select 'Save'. If you have any other model of receiver please email me at: for further assistance.

Drv automatically try to cut off due to inactivity even though I'm watching tv

Hi, I would be happy to assist you with your issue. DISH receivers are equipped with an "Inactivity Standby" feature which will place the receiver in a standby mode if the remote is not used in specified amount of time. The receiver does allow you to set the amount of time or if you would like, you can disable the feature. This can be accessed by pressing the Menu button on the DISH remote and then select "Preferences" and then "Updates". If you are still having issues and need additional assistance, please feel free to PM DISH directly on facebook here: Thank you!

My dvr 722 is slow in playing back or stops from a prior recording. Do you have a solution?

Hi jrodd1 my name is Mike Houston of DISH Network, if the 722 DVR isslow in play back and stops prior to recording there are some things you can doto get this working right. The first thing you want to do is unplug thereceiver for 10 seconds and plug it back in. This will allow for the receiverto require the signal and will stop the slow play back and stops prior torecording a program. I will send a link to help with these steps.

The ethernet port is not active on these receivers thus not allowing you to get on ine. There currently are no plans to activate this in the future but you may for an upgrade to a 722 which does allow this and is HD capable and has 300 hours of SD record tine available. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Lg lht854 does not work tv sound

Ok your dish network wont play through the LHT854? Which Dish network receiver do you have 211, 311, 625, 612, 722? From the owners manuel for the LHT854 it looks like you can only hook up the audio from another source by an optical cable, so how is the LHT854 hooked up to the dish network receiver?

Problem with recorded playback

It is possible that during a set time of day this problem can occur due to aged hardware such as a barrel or the LNB becoming overheated during that time of the day. If you are home during that timeframe and the weather is consistent and the problem does not exist then I would order a replacement receiver.Dish has some new receivers that allow one to use an external hard drive to increase record capacity as well however they are HD receivers. Currently Dish has a shortage due to production in the 625 model and you may be able to get a 722 rx with 300hrs of record time and external hard drive capability at no additional cost to you do to inventory shortages. If you do opt to get a new rx and get an HD model Dish shoud waive the HD fee for not having HD programming due to this. The key to getting this free upgrade if you will is not to ask for the 722. Let Dish's inventory dictate that unless you just want to upgrade your system in which case ther may or may not be additional charges. Hope this helps you out.
