There might be still other power transistors left, same part number

for the power inverter ( IRLZ43N on some ).

Except for the Main Amp that have Complimentary Pair

check for possible burnt or open resistors , too

If the service manual is not available on the JVC websites then you should just Google search "JVC A-GX3 service manual" There are many websites that archive manuals. You'll probably have to pay for a copy. Why can't you disassemble the unit and see the output transistor numbers first? More importantly how do you know this is the fault?

SOURCE: I do have a Peavey XR500, series 260C amplifier,

I would try looking for 2SJ6357. Japanese transistors tend to drop the 2 when putting the numbers on the parts.

The type of audio power and the number on onkyo A917 amplifier

Hi
Usually there are 2 transistors for each channel, if you don't know the numbers on the transistors.
there is another way to get as close as possible to have equal or similar to the same type of transistors (NPN/PNP)
example: 2SA is PNP transistor.
there are (2SA/2SC) transistors and there are (2SB/2SD)
complementary transistors
1: you have to know the supply voltage for the transistors
2: choose transistors that it is equal to the current and voltage that suits the supply voltage.
follow this link to find suitable transistors.
be aware and be careful that there other parts you need to check on the power amplifier circuit, resistors, capacitors and drivers etc...
I would suggest (2SD1047/2SB817)

Good luck
Hope this helps

Can i fix the transistors on my car amp it smokes when i put power to it.

stop turning it on, until you change the transistors. you will burn the entire system.

change all the transistor, not only the smoking ones.
check all other components.

I'm not familiar with that particular amp but generally, the only transistors that burn are the ones in the power supply. If the adjacent transistors had numbers like IRFZ44, IRF3205 or similar, the burned transistor is likely the same as the ones next to it.

Confirm that the center and right-most leg of the burned transistor and the transistor next to it are directly connected by large traces on the circuit board. Also confirm that the center leg goes to the large windings of the power transformer. If it passes these tests, the transistor is one of the power supply FETs. The numbers on the adjacent (parallel connected) parts will be the same as the burned one.

What are the part numbers on the transistors you replaced?

Did you replace transistors in the output section and the power supply section?

My bx2200 cut off as soon as it was turned on and started smoking?

It sounds like the power supply transistors have failed. You'll need to pull the clamps and get the numbers off of the transistors. It's also possible that the 47 ohm gate resistors have failed. After removing the old transistors, you need to check the resistors individually.

Since you're new to repair work, read the following page.

Basic Repair Introduction

Post the part numbers if they are incomplete and you can't find the correct replacements. mouser.com is probably the best place to buy small quantities if you're in the US.

You also need to check the output transistors to see if any are shorted. If they are, the repair will be more difficult (especially if there is damage to the driver board).

No Audio From Amplifier

I would first check for "rail votage" at the rectifiers... If all of your audio transistors are not getting around 40 volts then check the transistors you replaced. They should be getting a 5 volt (10 volt square wave is checked with a scope) "drive" signal. If half of your power supply transistors are not getting a drive signal then replace the kia494/tl494/kia594/tl594---whatever it is. thats the ic chip that supplies the "drive" signal to the power supply transistors. Also follow the board closely out of the power supply transistor to the 494 chip.. there should be some small driver transistors in between.. make sure they are not shorted or fried as well... let me knoe if you need more help

Amp has burned up

You'll need to replace all three transistors and any other in the same line (unless they're divided by high power diodes). Make sure you check all resistors before replacing anything. Search www.digikey.com for parts, they should have the exact transistors-just put the numbers on the transistors into the search field.
