Question about Light Outboard Motor Boat Bass Fishing Saltwater Base
Hi, Is there anybody who can or maybe direct me to someone who can identify an old (maybe 30ish+ years old) twin cylinder engine from the numbers B. J5DRLERE G. 03B24421, All I've found out so far, Is that this engine was made in Belguim, don't know how many HP as its not got original engine cover. I have tried 25-1 ratio fuel but seems to be running slugish and smokey, I am tempted to try 40-1 but afraid this might cause it to seize. I would be very greatful for any suggestion. Many Thanks Larry
Most Boat Engines Run With A 50:1 Ratio
I Think This Is Fine For You.

It sounds like the float is sticking in the carb. Since the carb is higher than the fuel tank it pulls the fuel in by vaccum of the engine. when running at high rpms, it can burn the fuel thats flowing into the carb, when you idle down, the bowl of the carb is filling up with fuel faster than the engine can burn it and causing it to flood. Then when it shuts off at idle it does not want to start back up because it is flooded. To make a long stary short, pull the carb and give it a good cleaning and your problems should be solved.
