Question about eMachines Computers & Internet
E732Z FOLLOWED FIREFOX RECOMMENDATIONS BUT IT KEEPS CRASHING
I see that you have tried everything that may help fix the issue you are experiencing.
The only recommendation I can give you right now is to create a different user profile in windows and see if the issue will still occur on the new windows profile created, and if this happens possible that there is something wrong with the windows installation on your Computer.
To Create a new Profile in Widows regardless of what version you have, Follow the steps below:
Assuming that your Existing Windows profile is already Administrator got to
-Start Click on Control Panel
-make sure that is is in Classic View where you see all the icons and details. once you have the list showing
-click on users
-in users click on create new user this will give you the option to create a user and ask you if you want to copy all the files that your original file has to the new profile and also make sure that you make the new profile set to administrator as well, which I believe is needed just incase it works you can remove the old profile that was having issues.
-once you have created the profile it may take awhile to finish if you have a lot of files that need to be copied to the new profile.
-once the new profile is created, close all windows that are open and click start then Log-off user to be able to log-in to the new profile that was created.
once you've logged-in to the new profile test it and see if the same problem will occur like on the old profile you had if you think the issue is not happening anymore and that you are satisfied that everything is OK, check all your files first if they are all copied to the new profile created before deleting the Old profile with problems.
I hope that this will help? I cannot find any other options that could be causing your issues in the old profile except for a corrupt windows profile.
Have a nice day Janice,

Ok, This will be long. Wireless: 1. Access your router and ensure it has connected and obtained and IP address. While in the router check the WEP Key. Make sure you are using the correct WEP key and are using the correct mode. Routers often refer to B, G, or N as network type for wireless. If your computer or card only support 802.11G wireless networking your router must also be set to transmit using this format. 2. Go to manage wireless networks on your computer and make sure you have the correct WEP key entered. If you have the wrong WEP key entered you will see connectivity to the router but not be able to connect to the internet. You also need to make sure you have the correct Network name entered. These items are Case Sensitive so they must be entered exactly the same. 3. Finally, if you still have not connectivity, go back to the router and check (If it has this function) what channel it is broadcasting on. Most use channel 6 or something in the range of 2.37 Mhz. This will not work with HP laptops and may be an issue with Compaq laptops. You should be able to change that to another channel, I use channel 7 on mine which is 2.47 Mhz. If you are connecting through a cable again, check the router to make sure it is actually connected to the internet. If it does not have and IP address assigned it is not connected. If It has an IP address assigned and Gateway then check that the router is set to DHCP so it will assign a subnet address to your computer. You also need to make sure that you have entered a starting IP and subnet mask for it to start with and a metric for it to use in assigning IP addresses to devices. One last thing on your wireless, check to see if the router is set to use 108 mps transfer, if it is turn that to Auto detect or turn it off if auto detect is not an option. Not all wireless will support this mode. I hope this helps. If you are connecting your Router to a cable modem for something like Roadrunner cable internet you will need to contact them to set your cable modem and network to accept the router. For some reason these cable modems can only be set by the tech support people.
