Defrag and make sure the green system files have not been moved ( restart computer and defrag again if needed ) , in my computer right click on c: then click properties , click disk clean up , then click ok after it calculates , also make sure you are not low on drive space , the more programs you have running the slower it will be also , so right click on task bar then click task manager and click the process tab and see what is taking the processor speed and what is running , also you will want to upgrade the ram memory to at least 512mb ram

First, your pc5300 memory runs default at 6300Mhz, not 333. Perhaps your motherboard Front Side Bus line is 333 in which case the memory will drop to that speed, but if the FSB and memory match speed, then it would run at 6300. Since you have an older unit, I would suppose you are running only 333, and that is average speed for that config. In addition, you are only running 1 gig RAM, which is woefully inadequate for Windows 7, so everything you do is going to be slow.

Hi my pc going slow

There are many reasons causing a PC to slow down performance. The outdated hardware or poor system maintenance is the major reasons. If possible, try to upgrade hardware configuration such as add more RAM, Processor etc.

Otherwise use the best antivirus software to diagnose the and clean junk files. This method surly will increase the speed of your computer.

I have 256 MB RAM which is slow, can i upgrade it to 512 MB RAM

Depends completely on what motherboard the computer has and what it supports, I could check on it if you have and brand and model of the computer, or from the motherboard.

Sure the prosessor speed doesn't affect the memory amount possible don't worry about that, just need to find out how much is supported and at what speed etc.

Thanks,
Ekse
