Question about Toyota Sewing Machines
Does it feel loose and wiggly? A lever should feel firm as it works. If it does you'll need to get inside. Typically these levers have a cam on the other end that activates the presser foot bar. If it is loose it could have slipped off the part that makes that happen. Also the part on the presser foot bar can be broken but you won't be able to tell until you get in there.
Take your time and take pictures as you remove things. safeguard the parts... Good luck, I hope it's just loose.

If you can remove the cover on the left side you will see the presser foot bar. On the bar there will be a screw that may be loose. Turn the handwheel until the needle is all the way down and lift the foot manually until just before it makes contact with the needle clamp and tighten the screw on the presser foot bar.
That should do it.

I think #39 on this link is the presser foot lever.
#13 on this link is the instruction manual.
If you're looking for the foot control, that is #16 on the first link.

position the foot under the shaft making sure the horizontal pin on the foot is in line with the horizontal groove on the end of presser foot fitting on the shaft. Lower the pressor foot arm and it should snap right on. If not, press it up manually. the directions should be in your manual. If you don't have your manual, you can get it online at www.brother-usa.com

If you can't lift the presser foot up at all undo the presser bar screw on top of the presser bar, if you have a dial turn it to 0, you should now be able to move the lever, if it is still tight put some WD40 on the presser bar and leave it for a couple of hours.
