Question about Brother MFC-3240C All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

This printer keeps displaying 'paper jam' every time it loads a sheet of paper to print. There is no paper jam & I have rebooted it many times to no avail.

I am using the same paper I always have. Rebooting does not help. There is nothing in the paper pathway.

One of the reasons why such error flashes is because the paper or media your are using might not be suitable for the printer. Always check on your paper preference before printing.

SOURCE: pixma mp460 error 5100

this error is an error within the printer. This error means that there is something obstructing the printing process. Check inside your printer through the gears that you can see under the lid. There should be something obstructing the gears such as dirt or in my case popcorn. There was even some paper caught underneath the rollers that I had to jiggle around to even see. Check VERY thoroughly.

SOURCE: Frequent Paper Jams in Brother HL-2140

Every 120,000 pages, the paper feed rollers, fuser, transfer roller, and OPC belt cartridge should be replaced, usually by a trained techncian.
Fuser and OPC belt units are customer-replacable.

The multiple feeding of the paper into the printer is due to a worn paper separation pad. part no. LM0711001. If the machine is picking up the paper okay and the jams occur solely from multiple sheet feeding, then this part is probably all you will need. The steps required to access and remove & replace the separation pad unfortunately is about 10 steps. Better consult a tech.

How to troubleshoot paper jam problem in printers?

Most common reason are as follows:-- Among the most common problems with any make of printer are paper jams. A printer will jam for any number of reasons: It’s dirty, the wrong paper type is being used, or the rollers on the printer that feed the paper through its pathway are worn down. While cleaning the printer periodically and using the correct paper type are easy fixes, roller replacement can be a difficult job depending on the model of HP printer. For some HP printers, the rollers are easily accessible, but you'll need to completely tear down other models to remove the rollers. Regardless of the cause, when removing a paper jam, always pull the paper in the direction of the paper path, because pulling it backwards can severely damage the printer.

Certain HP printers are more susceptible to paper jams than others. In my experience, any printer that holds the paper vertically and then pulls it down through the printer invariably ends up having paper jam problems. These models aren't designed for heavy use, but many organizations make use of them on individual systems and should be aware of this flaw. In addition, some people have trouble with the newer HP 4000 series printers' paper pickup rollers—which is odd, because the older 4000 and 5000 series HP printers are considered rock solid and don't seem to have any trouble with their pickup rollers.
This will help.good luck.

How do I fix the machine jamming?

There are sticky cleaning sheets of paper that clean paper dust off the rollers and the paper pathway in the printer. You can obtain these cleaning sheets from a paper supply outlet. Also inspect the rollers for a torn corner of a paper that is stuck in the paper pathway that may cause a new sheet of paper to feed in crooked.

I am using canon 2900 printer and i having every time paper jam issue please help me

Paper jam I suppose is the commonest of all printer problems as it can occur due to strayed, stuck bits of papers in pathway of paper tray, outlet, roller etc. I would recommend cleaning the paper inlet, outlet, and other possible areas to avoid a paper jam situation. I have observed that most people fan the paper pile to keep them dry or non-sticky. It's a wrong method because fanning the pile of papers make them go haywire and often lead to paper jam.

First off. has diagnostic programs that help resolve problems. Here you can get updated drivers etc. For now, go to the back of the printer and pull out the large black roller box used for duplexing. Check that it is clear of debris and everything moves easily. Look inside the back opening for any loose material such as flicks of paper or dust. Clean all parts and replace as it was originally. Small fragments sometimes cling to the sensors inside the printer and trigger notifications. Check the intake rollers and clean them so the paper is pulled into the pathway with ease. If rollers get SLICK (shiny) they will not grab the paper. It is best to put the paper in correctly with the print side down.

It says paper jam but there's nothing there i have tried to check the insides but there is no paper jammed just won't work

Sometimes high cotton content paper will deposit paper "dust fibers" in the paper path and roller gears. Or there is a small torn piece of paper in the paper pathway somewhere. I have found bits of paper in the upper roller section on my Lexmark 5470 in the past. If that is not the problem unplug the power supply for a few minutes and then restart it. That should clear the error message.

I keep getting a notice that paper is jammed, but all pathways are clear. I've tried rebooting the machine. What do I do next?

Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

I think the Second Side pathway is blocked. This should be on the back of the printer. Open the back and make sure the pathway is clear.

HP 2015 printer has a constant paper jam light

Your printer has a long history of problems with its formatters. Apparently you may be able to download updates, but they don't always work. You may have to replace it. More information here:
