Question about Bertazzoni F6M9PX Oven

1 Answer

The oven leaks through the bottom of the door. Seems to be an excessive amount of condensation which builds up and then pours through the bottom of the door and onto the floor.

We have had one service man come out who just accused us of spilling something. We do notice that the seal has a split in it and this is where the moisture leaks through but he denied this was the issue. Now nobody seems to service our city and the service company for South Western Ontario don't want to know.

How long should it take for the oven to heat up. I know this stove is old but 20 minutes + seems excessive to me. Thanks.

It is... but you probably have leaks around the door gasket developed thru ordinary use.

there will be a slight adjustment that can be done if you undo any screws or bolts holding the door , no need to take them completely out but just enough to re position the door , make sure there are no hinges that are bent .

Hi there is no adjustment. to fix it you will need to change both hinges on the door. Some models have a roller which may need changing (on the oven frame where the hinges are located)if the door is creaking when opened or closed. wherever you go for parts you wil need the model and product no from the oven located around the door area.

Heat escaping, uneven baking, longer cooking times

Either the seals need to be replaced, or you may have weak oven door hinges, and the door is not closing properly.
Only solution would be to replace both hinges if this is the case.

Lots of water/condensate ends up on bottom of oven

I have the same problem with my new Smeg oven. I try to avoid using the oven at the moment because of the amount of condensation I have to mop up each time I use it, even the floor get wet!. Smeg have said they will replace it but I am now looking for an oven that will fit into the 'whole' the oven will leave in my newly renovated kitchen. I wish I had never ventured near to SMEG. I would never recomend Smeg to friends, quite the opposite.

Should not be a problem. Be aware that these units cook more quickly...and they pull out moisture differently from the food and some of it hits colder parts of the oven...condensation. If all else seems well, you're okay.
