Question about LG Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

My LG ducted reverse cycle air con went off over Xmas (when it was 42C). It seems to be working again but I have a small green light and a small red light (flickering) on the power board. Should the red light be off? I've tried turning off the power at the mains and at the unit but both lights are still on. Model number ABUW426KSAO.

I would check the soldering first for any cracks, and any obvious faulty capacitors or components. It looks like the power board is going into a protective mode because of a short / failed component somewhere.

It would be virtually impossible to guess exactly where with a spot check..

Had the same issue, I replaced two 1200uf caps on the power supply board and now it works fine again. Remember to replace the caps with caps rated for at least 35wvdc.

SOURCE: Ducted heating unit blows cold air and fan is always on..

that s correct the control is done by the thermostat stop the heating up to your set point and restart if the medium temp is under the set point
if this sequence fail means
- no power to the control element or is defective
thanks

SOURCE: Water dripping from air con use

If the unit is mounted on an outside wall check the condensate drain that comes out with the line-set to the outdoor unit. If the pipping goes up into the attic than you have a small condensate pump that may have failed. The float in the pump may have stuck in the down position not allowing the pump to come on.

First you have to check if the back light of the panel works fine . if it's okay ..
Then probably you have a problem with the T-con.
It's a small board at the back bottom side of the panel . Connected to the main board by means of LVDS cable .

Air con makes a loud wooshing noise then goes off. Red light flashes on unit. It's on the heating mode

Its the reversing valve shifting, it normal and you will hear it in the heating mode as well, you will hear it in the heating mode as well, during a defrost cycle.

I have a neo plasma LG air conditioner, i am having problems switching on to cooling, sometimes it works, other times it is just circulating the air, making the room hot, it is 4 yrs old.

Possible problem with the thermostat which might be sensing the wrong temperature and so is not switching ON the compressor. So if the AC works once it is ON then the gas and compressor seems good. So you must check the thermostat and control board. Set the AC to a lowest temp and try.

Red and green lights on both small units keep

Check the cleanliness of the filter and the coil. If either is restricted, they will prevent proper airflow across the coil decreasing the amount of air and possibly causing a low pressure switch to trip. If you find either is dirty, clean it and try again. If this does not work, report back and we will look into another possible cause. :-)

Hope this helps and good luck!
