I am having this problem, plus i can not use the laptop at all. I am on another computer looking for answers most of these solutions are for my problem; however no one seems to NOT be able to still work on thier troubled computer. Is there something else going one. I was trying to do an erecovery by pressing alt f10, tried using f8 option for safe mode but that just comes back to this same black screen with winload.exe missing or corrupt.

Hii,

As you have mentioned it is giving corrupt message, so if you wish to recover those files in the same format as it was earlier then you need to use Recover Windows software. This software easily recover data from corrupted partition. Any user may get it from internet for evaluation purpose.

Several things you can try...first, if System Restore is enabled (not recommended because viruses love to eat and grow in there), boot into Safe Mode (F8 at startup). If you can get into safe mode, go to Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore ...the SP update automatically creates a restore point before it begins (about the only thing that Microsoft actually got right!), and you should be able to select that restore point and go back to before you ran the update.

If that does not work, or you cannot get into safe mode, then you will need to run a Windows repair using your original Windows CD or factory recovery disc(s). Make sure to run a "repair", not a "clean install", else you will lose all your data. (if you don't care about saving data, I recommend a clean install).

If the repair doesn't work, your only real choice is to do a clean install, following the steps just above. However, you will lose all your documents, so if they are important to you, take your computer to a PC service tech or facility and have them backup your files first. It'll cost you, but probably not that much. I normally charge my clients $60/hr to backup their data, and usually it only takes about 30 minutes for 1-5GB of data.

After that (or without that), run the Windows "clean" install and you're back in business!

Hope this helps - remember to rate :)

You are missing the file NTLDR.exe and NTKRNL.exe. NTLDR is the first file your computer sees when it is booting up and it brings up other files to get your computer started then it turns it over to Windows file called NTKTRNL which actually brings up the Windows operating system. The only wayto fix is to find a Windows disc and copy them over to three folders that you have either win32, windows or winnt. Copy to all three if you see all three buy only one of those starts your system and it seems like it's win32 based on your error, folder under your C: drive. That will solve your problem and your computer will boot up normally.

try cleaning your Cd.
Failing that you could borrow an operating system disk to get windows up and running and then get all the drivers etc from your restore disks

This is usually a fatal error.
The hard drive has either a damaged sector or the windows file is damaged/missing. Try pressing F8 just before it tries to boot and select repair or restore.

The problem you have is with the system boot files. There is a corrupt file and that is stopping the system from booting.
Press F8 as the system starts up, that will let you into the special boot menu and hopefully will give you the option of repairing your system. The timing can be quite tricky as there is only a very short time window. Trying a few times should get it.
Hope that helps.

I'd try to insert my Windows dvd, boot from it and try to repair the installation. If thatdoesn't work, try to backup any data you want if Windows still lauches, and else you will have to reinstall Windows, I'm sorry.

I hope this helps,

Do you have any important files that you want to back up first?
