Question about Pioneer PureVision PDP-4340HD 43 in. Plasma HDTV

1 Answer

PDP-4340HD keeps turning off.

We have either a PDP-5040HD or PDP-4340HD using a PDP-R04U media reciever. The Television keeps turning off. After having totally switched everything off. Pressing power button on receiver the standby red light flashes continuously at 1 second intervals. Turn on the power at the screen the standby light comes on solid as well as the one at the receiver. Pressing the power button on the remote the green light comes on on the screen, the green light stayed on till the Screen cut out and then the standby light came back on solid. As soon as the power button is pressed, on the reciever the green light just continously flashes in lots of 10, the REC Timer light also immediately starts flashing at aprox 1 second intervals for 31 times and then stops. Out of the blue after numerous attempts it will sometimes start working as normal? I see this is a quite a common problem so what is the cause, is it fixable, what needs replacing, what are the part numbers for ordering the correct parts to rectify this and where would you recommend we buy the parts.

Continuous blinks of standby light indicates a fault in the IIC data bus. The main board is likely to be faulty. If you wish to know more Check this link.

SOURCE: Can I use media receiver PDP-R04U with PDP-436PU display?

You need the pioneer media cables hooked up to the media receiver to the plasma unit itself. each end has 2 different plugs. one has 2 thumb screws and the other is a squeezable end that clicks into place. They MUST be on before you plug in any power what so ever!!!! And yes, other information is being passed through.

if this is only with the laptop,, you need to replace your hdmi board if its with the cable
and you receive sound and no picture replace the tcon board. if you dont have neither
picture or sound replace the power supply.
for any parts you can order at tvpartsandmanuals. com

Pioneer media receiver won t turn on

If the light on the media reciever doesn't come on then the power supply in that needs to be replaced by a service tech. If you disconnect the 2 cables from the media reciever and the panel and then try to turn on the panel it should light with red and green squares for a few seconds but will turn off as it needs the media reciever to be connected.
