If your tub is porcelain over cast iron and the cast is not cracked your ok. If the cast is cracked then the chances of the crack continuing are great, more so with any vibrations and changes in weight distribution.

Arthur, thanks for pointing out that there are high chances of a crack in the cast getting worse. It makes sense that vibrations and changes in the weight distribution could cause it to crack even more. My husband and I recently noticed a crack in our bathtub. It seems to be deeper than just the over cast, so I assume it is important to contact a repair service right away so there is no more damage done.

Someone tightened the trap nut too much. Replacement is the only practical answer. Tighten the trap nut just enough but not too much.

How we can repair the broken badminton racket frame....

The only thing to do is replace it unless it's a hairline crack, which may still result in a larger crack over time, especially after each stringing.

Been there, done that. Does it leak all the time? Does it leak only when you flush? Please clarify this. If the gasket is off centered, it will leak there. The bolts could be leaking, got food coloring to use as a dye? You can do this while watching the bottom of the tank, as you flush. Hairline cracks in the porcelain can be seen, get out yur magnifier and look underneath the tank, as you flush.

I am trying to loosen the plastic nut under the toilet tank. The tank seems to be leaking from this spot.

i use a spud wrench, cheap one is about 6$ but, check your rubber flat washers on your tank bolts, they get hard and crack, or it's possible that your tank has a hairline crack running from tankbolt hole to tankbolt hole, both are common problems

Recently bought ex-display bathroom sink /unit.discovered cracks to underside of sink.can you recommend a repair solution?

I have to presume the sink is made of china and there is no repairing of china. There are two kinds of cracks, hairline from some sort of impact, and shrink. While the hairline crack can be visually disappointing, if it does not extend through the drain hole area it is a safe bet that the lavatory can be installed and used normally. A shrink crack resembles the cracks of a dried up lake bed and rarely cause any problems no matter where they are located. Rarely does not mean never.

Try calling the manufacturer and tell them you noticed it and you are sure you didn't do anything to damage it. There isn't much you can do to seal it. Good luck

Is it possible to drill into a Kohler cast iron shower pan, without cracking the porcelain? I need to secure a track for a shower door. -- Thanks!

Yes you can but you've got to buy a special bit. Porcelain will dull a brand new bit in seconds. You've got to get a carbide tipped or concrete drillin bit. Also while you are making preperations to drill put a piece of wide masking tape over the spots to be drilled. Don,t push down too hard and let the drill do the work. Good luck.

My porcelain covered bathtub has tons of ''spider cracks'' all over

crack in porcelain is going to affect the cased iron shell. if you don't fix them. water will seep through and cause the iron to rust.
the cause of the cracks are from the extreme temperture change in the room or the floor.
there are no easy fix for this. you can get a tub insert from any of the home center. I can tell you what the price is, since I haven't done any home remodeling for 3 years. price change.
