Well, sir, it is metal on metal, and you did well to stop it. Someone will be needing to take the whole thing apart and find the problem. It may be easy because the metal should show where it was rubbing because it will be shiny bright.

Kia sedona engine noisy when cold

Check to see if your fan belt is making that noise. When they get old, sometimes the rubber gets hard, and they make an awful racket.

I have a screeching noise when I start my air conditioning.

It could be but how easy was the belt tensioner ? that may be the problem by not putting enough tension on the belt. How tight is the belt ?

My holmes air purifier makes a screeching sound

If you can access the fan, spray lubricant onto the shaft as close to the fan body as possible. It will work it's way into the bearing

I have a Philips HTS3520 home cinema kit bought today. The problem is the DVD player is making a god-awful screeching noise and wont ******* unless drowned out with sheer volume or turned off. Everything...

Get in touch with where you purchased it and tell them that the DVD player is faulty. They will send out a new one or fix it.

I have a maytag Atlantis dryer. It makes an awful screeching noise when I first turn it on. It sounds like metal rubbing on metal.

Sounds like the motor may be going bad.

Probably the fan bearing is worn out, looks like you will need a new fan.

Make sure there is not any obvious visual obstruction.

2002 suzuki XL7 the heater fan screech when i turn the fan at first it goes away after a few seconds now it just stay noisy

the screech noise means the bushing are bad you will need to replace the fan soon you may also have to clean the drain for the heater box

Forget purchasing anything, i had the same problem. Slide the lid back and spary the belt with WD40..... noise goes and works a treat and no money spent!
