Question about Magic Chef CPR1100AD Gas Kitchen Range
Magic Chef CPR1100ADW Replaced thermostat because oven wouldn't work and pilot wouldn't light. Now pilot stays on but flame is too high. There are two adjusting screws on thermostat, one for temp and one for pilot? Does not adjust down. The pilot assembly is new, oven works now, and burners are fine. How do I get the pilot to turn down?

I just dealt with the same problem. On this model, the (already very compact) oven temperature control includes a pilot safety valve. With the control turned to OFF, push in on the knob while applying a lighted match to the pilot. After the pilot lights, keep holding the knob in for a few seconds. When you release it, the pilot flame should stay on.
Me, I'm interested in why the pilot went out in the first place and what to do if it keeps going out. IS there that repair manual (online or in print) that jvmagic was asking about?

you need to check the amp draw on the ignitor.. if it is between 3.5 -5.2 amps your gas valve is bad..if not the ignitor is bad..YES theignitor can glow and still be bad due to lack of amp draw to open the valve..check that and let me know

open the oven. take out the racks and push on the button plan toward the back and left it out of the oven.
you will see a small orfix appromiate middle of the fire ring. light a match to it. put eveything back.
you in business.

Most, if not all, gas ovens do not have pilot lights any longer. They are electronically ignited. You could have a loose wire on the igniter or a faulty igniter. If your oven is new it should be covered by the warranty.
