SOURCE: Carrier 8000TS -Thermostat works, fan

If the ignitor does not glow, and you have had it checked, your circuit board could be faulty.

First count blinking lights on the computer board and reference them to the chart on door panels if no info then Check all the cut out switches. The first one is the vacuum switch connected to the fan by a tube you if working voltage will be passed through the switch.also verify vacuum function by measuring ohms at the leads while lightly sucking on the tube.

Code 24 on carrier weathermaker 8000ts

Turn power off to unit. Open air handler and take a picture of the low voltage (tstat) wires and where they are landed. Remove all thermostat wires from control board. Then replace the 5 amp fuse that is likely on the board. Fuse likely looks like one for a car (blade style). Put a jumper (small piece of wire) from the R terminal to the G terminal and turn power back on to unit. This should bring on the indoor blower. Let me know how that goes!!

I have a carrier 58RAV050-12 and my furnace won't turn on. It was working earlier today but it just stopped. Any suggestions as to why?

Check the pilot lt. If its out shutdown your furnace and call a repairman. If the pilot light is on, the flame sensor might have gone out. It's a long silver sensor that sits in the pilot light flame and senses when the flame is present. If it isn't working the furnace will automatically shut down.

If this a 3 wire pilot replace it. If this is a standing pilot you need to replace thermocouple. Any other type ignition let me know and I will follow up with you. James

Gas heater won't ignite

I agree. Either the pilot flame is dirty and is not making good contact to heat up the bi metal strip on the pilot assembly, or the pilot assembly is defective. 90% of the time if you clean the pilot orfice and the pilot burner it will take care of the problem

The fan on my Carrier cental air system is on, and I can't

If your fan selector, NOT SYSTEM SELECTOR, is in the auto position then your fan motor module is likely bad.

sounds like the sensing bar on the spark ignition is dirty.....a wire brush works nicely.
