Kitchenaid 600 pro

After many years dealing with Kitchen Aid mixers I purchased a pro 600 for my wife as an early Xmas gift. After just a few usages it started making a clunking noise in the gear housing. I removed the housing and discovered the casting is of very poor tolerances and the main drive assembly was lifting from the torque of the motor and causing the gear assembly to lift out of the casting and skipping on the worm gear. I am sure it is going to happen to many more of these units as the casting area that holds the bearing in is to large obviously an overdue mold in the casting process. Time for a recall Kitchen Aid.

Mixer shuts down midway through mixing dough on low speed. Is ther a thermal overload next to contactor that may be overheating

A thermal overload is an option on the D300 and is self resetting. Assuming your machine is being operated at it's full rated voltage, you might have to cut down on the amount of dough you are mixing. If I recall correctly, the relay and overload is located in the base or behind the speed selector plate.

I just submitted my problem: is there a recall or substitution for my leaking ksm90 mixer? i do not want oil in my food or have an eventual burned out motor

Well, from the postings on here I don't think kitchen aid is a top quality piece of work. Me? Sun beam mixmaster. One of the very few that has the power, durability and lifespan of a professional tool. Go the difference and.Know the difference.

Definitely need to remove the acorn nut. There should then be a few thinner nuts as well. Make sure to drain the oil from planetary first and also be careful as the entire assembly is heavy. If I recall correctly, you need to be aware of a fiber gear that follows the inner gear (sun gear) and drives the oil pump that is mounted inside the planetary.

I have been looking on the websites, but can't find where to put in for the warrenty

Warranty for Kitchenaid appliances is one year from the date of purchase. Their is way to submit "warranty" for it, only registration. Registration is only done for safety purposes - for example, so you may be contacted in the event of a recall on your particular appliance.

Registration may be completed at, underneath the Customer Care tab in the upper-right hand corner of the main page.

Warranty is best proven with a dated sales receipt. It is recommended you have it kept at all times in case it is requested to verify your date of purchase.
