Question about Krups Small Appliances Espresso Machine

Krups XP7200 wont grind beans (all lights flash)

I have had the same problem as others with this model leaking. Its 3 years old and has leaked almost the whole time. After about 1 year it started to have an intermittent problem that it would flash all indicators (nothing in the manual about what this means), then you turn it off for a while and if your lucky it works later. Now we dont get lucky any longer. I took the top off and cleaned out everything I could reach including the grinder (pulled out some caked in coffee). Still same problem (of course my warranty is out now). Heavily used machine so maybe its time to get a new one.

See post on leaking xp7240. It is almost the same machine. This post explains how to fix it (valve is blocked but can be easily cleaned)

My Krups espresso 7260 is not producing full shots and water comes out under the machine each time I pull a shot or make a (not so) long coffee. Help!

if the machine is old it could be leaking due to lime/calcium build up limeaway and clr should fix the problem, if not you probably have a cracked hose inside

My krups xp7200 is leaking water from the bottom. How can I open it to check the problem? thanks

You need to unscrew 4 screws in the front, three on the top (underneath the lid where you put the cleaning tablet), one inside the coffe container at the top, and pull gently, but firmly the little black nob inside the coffe container, that you use to adjust the coffee grinding, straight up. Then you can remove the coffee container on the top, and unscrew one screw underneath this container. Also, remove the two screws from the holes beneath the water container. NOW, you should be able to pull the front electronics off, and pull the main cover backwards, away from the front panel. You may have to bend it a little to get it completely off, but it is not a problem. Good luck! :)

Krups XP7200 series date problem

It seems that the dial knob and the electronic opto coupler don't work anu more. You can replace the digital panel by try to find a broken machine on ebay. Unless you are an electronics engineer like me (you can try to replace the optocoupler). See the post on leaking xp7240 for opening up the machine... it's tricky but easy.

How do I dismantle the grinder

I can remove the bean container by pulling off the grind selector knob and removing the only screw.
Then remove the scute for the cleaning tablets. Then remove the two screws that were covered by the scute. Remove the water tank. Under the tank remove the two screws.
Then the trick where everyone seems to look for: The facade of aluminum can be moved off. Set the machine on the floor and pull hard upwards at the facade. This comes off (pull hard!) and four screw are uncovered. Remove them and pull then back housing of the machine (remove first the containers/drawers). Now the inner parts are freely accessible. Take photos and remove the components from top till bottom to get to the bad parts that need replacement. Good luck!

Grinder starts up but wont grind..nothing happens. one week old

I think this might be because no beans have gone down into the mill. There is a definite difference in sound when it is actually grinding beans. Try emptying the beans out, set it to the coarsest setting, put the beans back in, shake the thing a bit then turn it on.

No grinding of the beans nor not making coffe

Yes! and I hope it helps you. There is a small metal shaft that you can see when you take off the bean grinding unit alot of times with repeated use the shaft will stick from small coffee dust particals and condensation buildup which forms a sticky substance on the inner shaft! get a small pair of pliers and grip the shaft and Turn clockwise 1 full turn, this may unstick it! unplug unit for five min then try again You may want to oil the shaft with some good high grade oil! if this does not work the grinding motor may be burnt out and needs replaced! also check your settings! please rate
THANK YOU!

Krups XP7240 leaks

The grind selector knob can be removed with the following steps: 1) Remove screw on side near grinder (do not let the screw fall into grinder, :-) ), 2) use sharp knife or similar to pry off cover with three dots. This should be easy. 3) Now you can rotate the grind selector and see that the white clear plastic does not rotate and the black does. There are two little pieces (one black, one clear plastic) on opposite side from grinder that slide over eavh other to keep this knob 'locked' into place. 4) again with a sharp pointed knife or similar you can separate these two pieces to 'unlock' them. This is made easier by lifting the side of the bean holder by the grinder gently and tipping it up. Be careful not to force anything too much. The black part should pop off. 5) Now you can lift off the clear bean holder.

After this good luck. We made it farther into the machine, but could never get to where we needed to go to fix our problem.

Krups must be congratulated for designing a machine that cannot be repaired and must be replaced with new purchases.

I have a 12 month old KRUPS XP7240 coffee maker. It has just ceased to grind the beans. I suspect that the grinder or hopper to the grinder is blocked? Any suggestions how it might be...

You need to open the machine which is easy see my other post on leaking krups xp7240. The grinder can be taken out by removing two torix screws. Probably the electical brushes are gone. Take the grinder engine to a repair shop where they replace them.
