Question about Microsoft MN-510 802.11b (L21-00002) Wireless Adapter

2 Answers

When MN-510 adapter makes connection, video drops out.

I put together a computer useing components from 2 units I had. One was in use, one was not. Computer works great until I plug MS MN-510 usb adapter into usb port. Once installed and connected, the video on the computer immediately drops out, and remains out even after unplugging adapter. Video comes back with reboot. It's driving me nuts cause the adapter worked flawlessly with the same monitor and video card previously used in the "in use" computer. Any ideas?

Try to uninstall and reinstall the video driver. Make sure you note down the make / model first! The lastest driver may fix this issue.

Can't hear my pc to head set..can u help

Hearing a Plantronics Voyager 510 headset through a computer:

To use a Plantronics Voyager 510 headset through your computer, you either need a USB Bluetooth adapter or you must have Bluetooth built in to your computer. Once the Voyager 510 headset is "connected" to your pc (by one of the mentioned ways), you may need to go into the control panel on the computer or the specific software program being used to set the Plantronics Voyager 510 headset as the "default device". Keep in mind that the headset has to be powered on and to also have to activate the headset to connect to the Bluetooth adapter or computer.

Good luck from Headsets Direct - 800-914-7996.

I just took apart my computer and put everything back together again but i get no display when i turn the computer on.

A common problem when putting a computer together is assembling the hardware in an incorrect order. 1. Install your CPU and fan 2. Install your RAM 3. Install the graphics unit 4. The order of the other components does not matter. 5. Connect power to all components and boot up.

WEP is not valid for the selected network

Hi,
As you have reset your base station, reconfigure it again after connecting it to your PC via cable. There you can configure wireless settings and WEB key encryption settings. Then delete the old connection settings present in your PC via network connections window and try connecting your PC via wifi as a new connection.
I hope this is helpful to you
Thanks

Very low signal

Given that you have a '802.11B' device, the maximum speed will be 11 Mbps.

While your wireless router is communicating at that speed to your computer, the router is communicating with your ISP at a much-lower speed, depending on how much you pay per month to your ISP for the agreed-upon level of service, e.g., "ADSL-lite" or "High-Speed".

So, unless you pay more per month to your ISP, the "bottleneck" will be between your ISP and your router, *NOT* between your router and your wireless adapter.

Now, as to the "low signal strength", that's a matter of the distance between the router and your computer, and the number and composition of the walls and ceilings in the middle.

If you move your computer closer to the router, the signal-strength should become "good" or "excellent".
