Question about Whirlpool LSB6200KQ Top Load Washer
My top loader worked fine until this morning. I tried to wash a set of sheets together with a mattress pad. When the machine got to the spin cycle, the machine started to make grinding noises and the agitator did not spin. I removed the soaking wet mattress pad and tried again. Same problems. I unplugged and replugged the machine. Problems remained. I checked the door latch and it still clicks. Any ideas on what's wrong and how to repair it?
Grinding noises are never a good sign. My best guess is that the motor coupling is shot. Very inexpensive repair if you're handy. unplug and tip the machine back. locate the motor and remove the clips holding the motor/pump assembly to the transmission. carefully remove the motor and if the coupling is shot, replace. put it back together and should be good to go.
