Question about Apple 15" PowerBook G4 Aluminum 1.67 GHz LCD Display (p/n 1002587) (661-3749 1002587) Mac Notebook

1 Answer

When typing it writes number 9 all the time

When typing it suddenly writes number 9, especially when entering passwords and the cursor goes crazy, it can't be controlled.
I will appreciate the help. Don't know if it is hardware or a bug.

How often? Can you make it happen on demand?
Acquire any other USB keyboard, and plug it into a USB port on your PowerBook. Use this keyboard for a while. If you don't see the problem, then I suspect some sort of short in your keyboard cable, or perhaps a spill in the keyboard itself.
PowerBook G4 keyboards are very easily replaced, without opening up the laptop itself.

Here is info on inputting text, from the manual:

7290 with keyboard locked, used 9/10 goes, one go left of password

The easiest error is having the number, alt or caps lock on.

To check if this is the case, you will have an icon in the upper right hand of the screen.
