Question about Mitsubishi WD62628 62" Projection HDTV

Open Question

My wd62628 will not show a picture. The lamp is good and the commands will show up and the devices menu shows as well as the channel number shows up and when I plug in another component the blue screen comes up but no picture (that way I know the lamp is good) and the audio is fine. Just have a dark screen when go to cable or antenna. What could this be? Thank you.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi WD-62525 BLUE SCREEN NO PICTURE NO SOUND

I had the same problem and I found that it was 2 caps on the power supply board. I had both caps replaced and it worked perfect. While it is apart see if any other caps are bad( if they are puffed up in the center they are bad).

Does lamp for wd57734 fit on wd62628?

A simple way to maybe know is Google each model number with "lamp" and unless the replacement being sold is exactly the same number they will not work for each other.

My projector has only just over 200 hours and is now showing a replace lamp message. The hours have also been reset???

The lamp hours might have not been properly reset.

1. Press the "POWER" button so that the projector projects the picture on the wall (projection screen)
2. Press the "MENU" button to show the "MAIN MENU"
Use buttons "F" or "G" and select "OPTION"
3. Confirm this by pressing "ENTER" so that "OPTION" is shown
Using buttons "5 / 6", select "LAMP RUNTIME" (lamp operation counter)
4. Select and press the "ENTER" button for at least 3 seconds
5. The "LAMP RUNTIME" (lamp operation counter) will change to "TIME RESET[POWER OFF]"
6. Turn the device off by pressing "POWER" and unplug the power cord.

My screen is green and does not show a picture or sound! You cannot change the channel or access the menu! Is it the picture tube or lamp?

Can you see menus if you press the menu button? You could be set to the wrong input that doesn't have a signal coming in. I have one TV that shows a blank blue screen when I'm on an input that has no signal. If there is not a signal on the input being used you will also not have sound.

Our tv screen is dark on certain channels and if the particular show is showing a night shot on every channel.

Try entering the "picture" sub-menu in your settings, then set the choice on "vivid" (or whatever the brightest setting is). If that doesn't work, try attaching the device on another input. Occasionally, if you are using the coaxial output of your device (the screw-on cable), it can give you a dark picture. If you have another output on the device, try it instead.

You may have not reset the lamp counter after replacing the physical lamp. To do this 1. Press the “POWER” button so that the projector projects the picture on the wall (projection screen)
2. Press the “MENU” button to show the “MAIN MENU”
Use buttons “F” or “G” and select “OPTION”
3. Confirm this by pressing “ENTER” so that “OPTION” is shown

Mitsubishi TV troubleshooting
Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.

Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected
