Question about Radio Communications

1 Answer

I have a commax intercom (dp - 2hp model). There are two wires connected from the bell outside to the connectors 1 & 2 on the unit inside and the bell is working. There are another two wires connected to the gate release mechanism outside. There are connectors marked 5 & 6 inside on the phone unit. The 5 is gate and the 6 is power. There is also a transformer in the roof with two wires coming from that. So I have 4 wires and two connectors (5 & 6) 0 so not sure what goes where? Regards Justin

You just said where everything goes, so what's the question?
connector 5 goes to your gat actuator, 6 is power for the unit, obviously there will be 2 wires for each for a complete circuit.

How are the wires connected from intertherm thermostat to nordyne E1EB-015HA unit

There's probably about 10 different ways to wire them together. If rh & rc where jumped together an tstat then R-RED W-WHITE G-GREEN Yellow (from tstat) to Red to outdoor unit if that's what they had connected outside(should be a red & white outside). If rc & rh were not jumped together @ tstat? The unit has 2 transformers and its a bit different. Rh is 24v from the inside and rc 24v from outside. And also we can use any color we want so who knows what the last guy used. Try this, install the new tformer and at the line voltage wire(L1 or load wire) get a couple of spade connectors(terminal clips) and put one on the tformer and one one the line wire. Then use a 3amp or 5amp blade fuse(auto parts store) and connect your line voltage wire end and tformer wire end to that fuse. But don't let them touch metal or each other. And buy a handful of them fuses(no greater than 5a!!). This protects the tformer as long as its done right. Then reconnect what you remember to be right or just connect 1 wire at a time. Try fan on and cool or heat, 1 wire at a time, and if the fuse opens you know that one is wrong. There is no way you can get the answer you need without knowing what wires are connected to what inside, outside and at tstat. Hope this helps and WORK SAFE!!!

How to use the intercom system

  • Check your telephone to see if it has an intercom feature. Many wireless phones that come with multiple units allow you to temporarily turn one unit into an intercom to contact other units attached to the same wireless phone system. Depending on the model, you can contact all the other phones at once, or a single specific phone, by pushing the intercom button and entering the other mode. To put the phone back into regular mode, all you have to do is switch off the intercom option.

  • Contact your telephone provider. Some telephone service providers allow landline phones to call themselves, which enables the phone to function as an improvised intercom. You would simply pick up the phone, dial and then close the connection. Once the phone is answered elsewhere in the house, you will have established a line to another phone and you can speak normally on it. This has largely been eliminated due to lack of need as technology advances, but it may still be an option with some providers.

  • Purchase and install an intercom system that will work through an existing phone line. Many of these products, some of which are produced by Panasonic, operate as a halfway point between a traditional intercom system and a phone line. The exterior intercom links directly to the phone line, and you can pick up the phone and talk through the intercom unit outside once the system is properly set up

I need wiring manual for goodman mini split.

outside unit L1 and L2 are load (input 240vac)
then you have control voltage, usually yellow and blue (24vac) this connects to some 18/2 thermostat wire which goes inside as white and red.

note: this unit may only need 24v control which is 2 wires from the inside unit and also 3 wires 2 hot 1 ground for line voltage.

on the inside unit you have green, white, blue and red control wires.

on your thermostat you have white, red, yellow and green

you run the wire from the outside unit to the inside unit. then run a 18/4 wire to the thermostat if wired and join the following wires.

    inside unit thermostat outside unit

Static from a wireless (plugs into the wall)intercom

There are a few possibilities that could be the cause. The fact that its only one unit malfunctioning most likely means it is some type of fault in the unit it self and not the connection. Have you swapped it with another unit to make sure its the unit itself? If so try these. The first and most simple is the easiest to fix. It may sound odd but dirt and other contaminants can cause a great deal of interference "static" when they get worked into the metal connectors that carry signals. If that is the case, I recommend that you unplug the device and use "electronics" contact cleaner on all the connectors and if possible the metal contacts themselves. If it is not a containment then it could be a loose connector blown speaker/mic or even a solder joint inside the device. If that is the case you may have to have it repaired.
    Hope this helps.
