You have to get into setup and select auto for that drive then make sure it is found in bios (setup). Go to IBM support and download manual for your modal you could also update your BIOS from IBM support and downloads.(also make sure drive is set as master) Please rate me mysleuth

No you don't need to re-format. All you need to do is install the drivers that you have downloaded (if you haven't already done so). Sometimes you need to right click on other devices with question marks and click on update driver. Then tell it where you have placed the new drivers. If you need more help let me know.
