My zen mosaic MP3 player by Creative no longer displays a menu

The screen on my zen mosaic MP3 player by creative is illuminated in white but no longer displays a menu. Pushing the reset button does not solve the prob

You are having a problem with the display of your Creative Labs Technology ZEN Mozaic MP3 Player. The display is showing a white screen and you have tried resetting the device and it still won't better the display? I researched your product and have found a possible solution for you! The next webpage that will pop-up will be your product's support page. It will show a list of knowledge base solution articles, firmware and applications you can download for you MP3 player. Based on my research and your description of the problem, you need a firmware update. Try one of the firmware updates listed on your product's support page. Try rebooting trough Safe Mode. Turn on while holding Reset and Play/Pause. Option 4 (reboot) should help.

Creative knowledge base gives this answer for blank screen on a Zen MX:
White screens or blank screens could be easily resolved with a firmware reload. The following steps will take you through the troubleshooting steps.
  1. Reset your player and verify if the screen is able to display its contents
  2. Make sure that the player has fully charged battery
  3. Finally, perform the recovery tool if the screen still does not display any contents properly through the following site:

Zen mosaic works fine but screen does not


Go in to Settings, Display Settings and turn up the brightness. Also consider using a lighter theme (also in Display Settings), or uploading a bright picture of your own and then setting that as wallpaper.

My zen mosaic is not downloading songs


You may be looking at the library on your computer. In Centrale with the player connected, double click on the Mosaic player icon at the bottom of the list on the left of the screen. This brings up a contents list identical to that above(which is for the PC not the player)

Possible that the processor has failed or is hung up. If there is a reset on this please try and reset so that the display is seen . if not there is failure on the motherboard

Try hitting the reset button. Its the small one on the left side. You might have to push it with a pen or something,

Instruction for zen mosaic by creative


I think alot of people are having the same problem I was. We got home, opened the box, plugged it in the computer, and nothing useful happened so then we installed the mini-cd. Well the thing is windows stops looking for a driver once it searches and finds nothing, and unfortunately those of us using XP do not automatically have the drivers. So...

SOLUTION
------------------
-If you have not already installed the mini-cd, do so, or download from Creative's site in the support section(if you do you might want to grab the latest firmware update)
-Once pack has been installed the drivers have been as well, BUT as I mentioned we now have to tell windows to look for them again.
-Reconnect your Mosaic
-Right click "My Computer"
-Chose "Properties"
-Click the "Hardware" tab
-Click "Device Manager"
-A window will pop up and you will see a long list with (hopefully only) one thing under the "Other Devices" sublist. It should be something along the lines of "Creative Zen Mosaic". Right click it
-Chose "Update Drivers"
-Follow prompts agreeing to search and auto install
-Once install is done, in a moment the screen on your Mosaic will say "Docked"
-Congratulations!
If you have downloaded the updated firmware this is the time to install:
-Ensure your Mosaic is in "Docked" mode
-Execute the firmware update
-Click "Upgrade"
-Wait (it takes a moment or two)
-Updater will say it is complete
-Mosaic will reboot
-Click "Close"
-Congratulations!

My screen is all blury


You should be able to adjust the brightness by going to Main Menu -> System -> Display Settings
also see what the contrast is
