Question about Samsung S860 Digital Camera

1 Answer

On start-up, Samsung S860 beeps 3 times then turns itself off

Using newly charged rechargeable batteries and a different set of charged batteries. When I turn the camera on, I only get a brief blurry image then the camera beeps 3 times then shuts itself off.

If I connect the USB cable to the camera I can access all the pictures on the camera.

I have the same problem. Wicabuss, the problem is that the camera will not remain on, once you turn it on it gives 3 beeps and shuts down. Also with mine, the mode dial is stuck, it now doesn't move.

Can i recharge rechargeable batteries that are in the camera s860 using a USB connection to a computer

No. The S860 uses standard AA batteries. If you want to use rechageables then you must charge them outside the camera using a separate charger.

I HAVE A DIGIMAX D53 AND WHEN I TURN IT ON THE MONITOR HAS A DULL LIGHT BUT FADES AND BEEPS 3 TIMES. i DO NOT GET A A MENU OR PICTURE WHEN I HAVE A MEMORY CARD INSERTED.

Does it turn off immediately after the it beeped? Are you using a rechargeable battery? Have you tried fully charging the it? You should also try fresh set of batteries and see if it will resolve your problem.

Beeping, bad noises, then turns itself off

If you have a retractable lens then that could be causing the problem. The beeps is letting you know that it's wrong and it shut off as a safe guard. So the noise you are hearing is the motor and gears for the lens.

Help

the 3 beeping sound as ou call it annoying means that the camera has low battery capacity. the lens is stuck out because there is incorrect battery connection. there is an option on the camera setting for the battery type. try this one:
-turn the camera on
-click on Menu button
-select options using left/right, up/down button
-select Set up 2
-Select Battery type
-Select Alkaline for non-rechargable
or Ni-MH for rechargable
-click OK button

this setting should be done when using camera for the first time and whenever you are switching battery types, from rechargable to non-rechargable and vice versa.

This sounds like a battery problem.  Make sure that it is fully charged or you replace the batteries and clean all battery contacts in addition to using some canned air to blow out the camera.  Let me know if this works, if not I will research it further.

HELP!

Use lithium batteries. I had a problem when our camera would turn on for a few seconds, beep 3 times, and then shut off. The best batteries, which are actually recomended for this camera is the lithium batteries. I strongly suggest them.
