I have an Aloha Breeze L-Style 52" Ceiling Fan(Polished Brass), Model # 29079 Bought From Wal-Mart about 1 1/2 years ago and the fan speed switch busted and the capacitor melted. I have a new switch but can't find a new capacitor because I can't read the spec info. Looking for a place to obtain the correct capacitor for this fan so I can make necessary repairs!

Ceiling fan speed chain broke off while fan was off. Replaced the 3-speed 4-wire switch with same type and rewired as before. Now fan only has 1 low speed. Could capacitor have gotten damaged?

capacitor tis toast. Have done what you did once. Just remember if/when replacing it...
The capacitor leads are color coded but the motor leads may not be! Tag the motor leads with colored tape before disconnecting the old capacitor, if necessary. Been there too! Differ by brands whether they are color coded.

Putting back the fan switch cord in fan.

It is probably broke. Just call the customer service number and they will send you a new switch. Take not of the wire positions when you take the old one apart. You can get the wires out by putting a very tiny screwdriver in next to the wire. It will release it. NOT ALL SWITCHES ARE THE SAME!!!! Some are single layer and some are not!!. I think you can tell by the body color of the switch. Red and Black, Grey and Black, ETC. I figured this out after buying 3 of the wrong switches. Each one hooks up a little different. If it is an aloha brand fan like sold at WalMart it is a common issue. Just call there 800 number and they will send you a new one. You have to know the exact model number of have the bar code. Usually there is a bar code on top of the motor. Just take it down from the ceiling and look. I called them on Thursday and got a free switch and capacitor on Monday!! My fan is going great again. If you have the old switch check it or just call the fan's customer service!!
Just call 1-800-295-4448. Even the call is free.

Did the fan come from Lowes or Home depot? If so, you can find parts there.
