Question about KitchenAid KEYS850LQ Electric Dryer

KitchenAid Dryer Timer stopped working - won't stop drying

KitchenAid Superbra, Super Capacity Plus, 120/240V, 28A, 60Hz
MOD: KEYS850LQ0
SER: MM4602434
TYPE: DWSR-ELE-2406028CVDU

Dryer heats and tumbles fine, but timer has stopped working, so dryer will tumble indefinitely; timer stays on setting, does not count down.

Do I need to get a new timer assym? I've hear they're $75-100. Or are there other possibilities for causing an improper timer?

Does anyone know of a used-parts directory where I might find a cheap replacement part?

Thanks for looking and for any advice!

Timers cannot be repaired. The mechanism is a spring - once it weakens, or fails - a new timer is required.

It is $83.72 USD.

Here is a Buy-it-Now eBay auction for $34.99USD & Free shipping!!

Your part number for the timer is 3976570a

A used part would have to come from an appliance store that salvaged from an abandoned washer.... and it may fail shortly anyway.
The new timer will have a warranty, and give you 10 more years of service.
Well worth it.

Why is my timer not counting down, and no heat?

Make sure the vent and heater air intake are not clogged with lint. Also, check the gas pilot to make sure it is not blocked up with gas line sediment, and the ignitor is working properly. The timer is probably waiting for a signal from the flame sensor.

I am having the same problem. Dried towels last night. This morning, I loaded it, turned it on, it did not lock the door or start drying (spinning) but the timer started counting down. I pressed Cancel twice, unplugged it for a few minutes then tried again. Problem still exists. Any suggestions?

Gas duet. Mod: GGW9250PWO Ser: MR3604435. Front panel under Status: "Control Locked" light is lit..nothing else works, including Control On button. Dead. Can the dryer be reset??

is the other lights DIM(partially lit)?
If so it could be one of the following.
1.) Intermittent ribbon cables between the control board and the Interface board (one with the buttons) Reseat all four cables.
2.) faulty control board.
3.) faulty Input board.
