I just picked up the Tomtom ONE LE from Best Buy on Black Friday and it worked out of the box (blister pack really), but the 2nd time I turned it on, it couldn't locate the satellites. Over the past 2 days, its found the signals a couple times only to lose it again. Unfortunately, I can't connect to tomtom.com from my home computer to download updates to see if that might fix this. But thats a whole other issue.

I got the same problem , I have to reset it every time I use , Do you have any idea how I can fix this problem .

    Thanks a whole bunch

Same thing here... Best Buy, Black Friday. I have to reset it every time I turn it on. Works great until it's turned off. Any idea's other than the loose antenna? That isn't congruent with it working after a reset... That suggests software.

tom tom worked ok for about 2 trips, but then lost all GPS signals and can't get them back. called company and was told that there is a problem with this model (tom tom one ls, serial # starts with a "z") and they are working on a "fix" - call them back in a couple of days. doesn' sound good to me. Should allow owners to get an upgrade that works rather than, as suggested, take it back to store and get another one (which may have the same problem)

Sounds like your antenna is either loose or needs to be replaced.

Can I get a GPS signal in Malta? I have a Tom Tom 700

Route will not plan until the GPS is locked.
Soft reset on the button underneath for 30 seconds will reset the GPS receiver on a 700.
Then wait upto 4 minutes for a refreshed lock after power up

Tom tom can't find sats signal

Try standing still outside in an open area. If you still don't get a signal it's probably broken but worth trying a reset - reset button generally underneath the unit needs a paperclip to operate it...

My tom tom ONe cannot get a valid Satelite Signal just stays wait

If you are indoors then move outdoors to get a signal.

If you are outdoors then move your location by a few yards and sometimes it will suddenly aquire the satellites.

Happens occasionally with my unit. I normally set a route up then start driving and it suddenly starts to work OK.

No GPS Signal in TomTom One XL all of a sudden

I suddenly lost the GPS signal today and could not get it back. All I got was the "No valid GPS signal". My solution was to tap on the GPS satellite bars when in the route map. this brought up the "Status summary page of the TOMTOM.

I then again tapped the satellite bar which brought up the "GPS Status" page. I then tapped the bar labeled "configure".

The radio button next to the option titled "Minutes (dm.m') was selected. I then moved the selection to "Degrees (d.d) and it started working.

I had just downloaded the GPS fix 5 days ago so it is not like this suddenly caused it to stop working.

This may not work for everyone but this is what it took to get mine working.

Cheers

No gps signal

I have had my GPS( TOmTOM One) on Waiting for Signal for 2 weeks now and I finally fixed it.

My symptomtoms (word play) were no signal at open areas, when connected to Tom Tom Home it showed exactly where I was and worked through the PC but when disconnected back to the same thing.

I called Tom Tom CS and nothing, FLash did nothing, factory defaults nothing, and updating did nothing.

What I did:
I charged the unit completely.
I took a paperclip and while off pressed on the reset button at the bottom by SD slot. I held it there for 30 mississippi's.
I did not turn it on after letting go.
I went outside to my car (parked on roof of parking lot) turned it on and set it on my dash vertically.
I left and came back in 1 hour and wallaaaaa. It is working perfectly!

Let me know if this fixes it.
